Who could we replace Ange with?

Going by a lot of the posts on here, it’s a wonder why we weren’t all celebrating when Rodgers left.

 

Tbh after being wrong about the Ange appointment I won't be turning my nose up at anyone this time around. Yeah there's names that inspire more confidence than others but if we can play decent, winning football then that's the main thing. What I still want and think is key for us if we've to anticipate a backroom overhaul every couple of years is a Director of Football type structure. Not always been sure about it but I think it's now a must going forward.

 

They might fluke this but how anybody can seriously be excited by Moyes as manager here is beyond me.

He’s spend hundreds of millions building this team with some brilliant technical players and his whole game plan after 25 years of a manager is still launching balls up the big man and playing for set pieces.

 

Put it this way if it’s DDs decision it could quite likely be Rodgers with Lawwell jnr as DOF. Rodgers makes players better coaching them.

Look at Armstrong Forrest Brown McGregor Christie etc under him all improved. Turned Sinclair around as he was terrible before joining us. Think of what he could do with Maeda Abada etc. could make them better

 

We'd be 1-0 up with 20 minutes to go and he'd be screaming for the players to get back

 

Then it'll fall to * all over again. At least Ange left us in a better state than he did.

Anyway think this is just picking up the Daily Mail article from yesterday but this guy really interests me

 

We'd be a bit better in Europe under Moyes.

But my *, imagine him at the Toni Macaroni arena? Each half would feel like a light year.

 

Rodgers is an excellent coach, attack minded and (unlike Ange who had a distant authority figure approach simmilar to MON) Rodgers is a good man manager and actually deals with players one to one and invests in them personally might be what this squad needs after being left hanging by their last manager. Those to me would be the biggest pluses in bringing him back.

Not at all, not a fan of maresca , I'd be surprised if it was maresca or Rodgers

Aye but I'm of the mind that he'll not be around long enough for that to happen. Hopefully the board spend his first year succession planning then pap him out after he wins us the treble next season.

Rapidly changing my mind on who I want, from Knutsen to Iraola, he seems like exactly the type of guy we should be going for.

Reading about Knutsen's 'lack of versatility' has put a bit of doubt in my mind as that was a gripe of mine with Postecoglou. Iraloa from what I've read is excellent at reacting to situations, which incidentally I always thought was Rodgers' best quality.

New preferred option for me, bring him home.

Thankfully he'll not take this job (even if he is sacked, which I doubt).

Great manager, wouldn't want his style here.... But would probably win the league tbf.

 

Don't get your hopes up, Pistol isn't interested in job applications, just ask Slaven Bilić.

 

I really want Iraola, the name is fantastic but the more I read the hornier I become...

 

If iraola is genuinely interested, the job will be his

 

Also, if he's putting himself forward for the position as has been reported, that's a really good sign. I like Knutsen, but if he's not keen then he's not the one.
