It's hard to be mad at Ange with all the success he had but ultimately he's played us like a fiddle. He must have known all along his ambitions which btw is totally fine just don't promise us the world while not having any intention of seeing it through

It's the way he's handled it. He's brought it on himself.

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. How else do you explain him being interviewed twice when permission was only granted to talk to Ange on Monday?

The club would have been fully aware of the situation.

If it were truly a case of illegally tapping up the manager, Celtic would be looking for an absolute fortune out of Spurs as compensation and taking the matter to the courts...

This board with Lawwell as Chairman, would never allow such a cow to go unmilked if your accusations were true

    "accusations were true"

Did we grant permission for Tottenham to talk to Ange on Monday?

I just think it’s a riddy to sit and say you know how to handle a group of footballers better than someone with that much experience, especially when it’s pure speculation about what actually happened.

And they won the cup comfortably..

and they almost certainly would have won the cup comfortably had they been told the truth.

They may be footballers but they are people first and foremost. I don't know many people that would choose being left in limbo for days with a 20 different scenarios running through their mind over just being told the truth so they knew where they stood.

Ange has outlined that he takes nothing to do with players on a personal level and barely speaks to them, so I actually don't think he is best placed to decide what is best for them. That would be Cal and the coaching staff he delegates half his duties to.

    In my opinion, it’s not.

It’s bitterness and sour grapes because he’s left. People can’t accept it so they’re coming up with bizarre reasons to criticise his conduct.

Reading The Athletic piece apparently an ability to unify a fanbase behind the team was one of the most important things Spurs were looking for. Feels like the fans may have been unwitting accomplices to Ange's audition :56:

"These demands are precisely what he delivered at Celtic, taking over a club at a low ebb and bringing the fanbase behind the team and behind himself more than had been the case for years."

Not for me, I think Ange would be a silly man to turn down Tottenham at this stage of his career.

But when all the Aussies and everyone who knows Ange hail his character; when most of his actions throughout his time here reflect that of a man who is principled and honest, you can't blame the fans feeling let down by his conduct in recent weeks.

No one made him quote a dead legend whilst he was having wee zoom calls with spurs.

Again I can absolutely understand him wanting to go to a big team in one of the biggest leagues in the world but there's a way to go about it. If it was done transparently I would have been disappointed but couldn't really hold it against him. As it stands I just think he's sneaky fat fud.

Also our standards definitely dropped off over the last few months and it now seems clear as to why.

This criticism is just so bizarre to me.

The guy wins the treble and leaves at the end of the season,

“AYE BUT WHEN DID HE TELL THE PLAYERS EH???”

Come on. People are just bitter and angry the manager has left and are clutching at reasons to be more * off at him.

It’s a difficult situation because of the timing. He handled it as well as he could. The rage at that fact is just sad.

People are * because he's been having secret zoom meetings with Spurs for the past 3 months yet having meetings discussing the future with the Celtic board and even agreeing a contract all while playing the supporters a fiddle. It's sneaky as * and people thought he was better than that. Turns out he's just like every other person in football. It's not a coincidence that the team went off the boil since then too

For me there was no way he's going to comment on anything to do with Spurs on the run up to the Cup Final..

He would have definitely been in contact with Spurs in the build up, probably through his agent, maybe directly..

That's football and what does it matter now, it doesn't..

Sure, some of his comments don't look that great now, again it doesn't matter now..

We move on and thank Ange for leaving us in such a strong position..

Where has this 'been talking to Spurs since March' chat come from?

Couldn't have been anything substantive given that Spurs were actively pursuing the Feyenoord manager up until two weeks ago.

In the majority of cases up and down the footballing world...teams drop off if they wrap up the league early
