Me neither. I guess things sometimes have to get worse before they get better. :54:

Probably a good thing... means the next manager can choose his own backroom team so that's one hurdle that won't be in the way

Kewell must be away as well as Ange brought him in. I wonder if Dell boy Strachan will also go.

Neither did I and this is a real big blow IMHO. I have said in years past before Ange was around when others questioned why was Kennedy still at Celtic that from what I knew he was highly rated and clearly that is the case. It makes the task of who we bring in as the new manager harder as Kennedy not being there means that the new manager has to be coming in with own backroom staff as well.

I need to think about this TBH. I'm not sure if it changes my perspective on Ange. I'm really not happy with him taking Kennedy. What happened to all that guff about not bringing his own people and working with the people already at the clubs he joins?

No hard feelings towards JK himself, though. I really hope he gains the confidence he needs down there to make the step up to manager.

Maybe the case mate, but i'm excited to have a clean slate, let the new man bring in his own backroom team, think this will be good for JK as well, the chance to get away, he'll be back someday no doubt about that, maybe even as manager.

Every managerial appointment is a risk, we got lucky with Ange, hope the Board can work their magic once again.

    Definitely a blow..

People will say aye but you wanted him out when it was *. Heard Keevins say it last night..

You always look for whoever is left over to blame. It's pretty obvious though that every manager and all the players rate him massively and that's why it's a blow..

He wouldn't be going to Spurs with Ange if he wasn't a high level coach..

We'll now have to hope that we get our number 1 right for starters but that our number 2 is a good one who gets the players on side. It isn't always a given..

Look at the mutants for example. They had Gio in and Roy Makaay. I remember the clip going about of him giving it to Kent doing a trick on the training ground and apparently the players didn't take to his methods..

I don't blame him for going by the way. Been loyal to us. Turned down the rat who was another high level coach that tried to take him, after coming to us from Liverpool. Turned down some good jobs as number 1 to stay here. He's done his bit..

Think it makes maintaining the continuity more difficult, initially at least..

However, a full coaching revamp might take us to a different level..

Glad he's fine for his own personal growth. He needs this move. He needs to develop. Absolutely no doubt we'll see him back at Celtic in years to come.

    All the best JK.

Yes no idea how many years or what kind of contract he currently has with us but losing Kennedy IMHO is a big blow so lets hope he had a few years left and we can get good money at least for him going. I think we got 9m when the rat and his team left. It seems we have 5m from Ange leaving so maybe we can add a decent fee to that for Kennedy and put all that towards their replacements.

Well I think we can safely say now Ange isn't the most honest of guys and a bit self serving. He clearly thinks Spuds is a much bigger job and would be mad going in alone.. He's not wrong.

No resentment towards Kennedy who has served Celtic well over many years..

Best of luck to him again like Ange he's gonna need it

He might not even be our assistant manager with whoever we appoint next, and you can't move the guy back to simply a coach, wouldn't be fair.

Good luck to him, wonder if Kewell will follow, he's not been mentioned yet strangely enough.

He has been a great servant to our club and absolutely I get it after how long he has been at Celtic that he wants to take this chance and move on.

Could not agree more. Losing Kennedy as well really makes this whole situation much harder for us.

Do Spurs not have any staff? Conte must have had all his own * in from Italy so theres nobody down there for him to work with.

We should have more ex players in the youth set up to promote up if they are good enough, is it only O'Dea and McManus still about? Maloney * off quite quick, Kennedy has hung about a good while and must have some medal collection feels like hes been in the first team set up about 10 year.

McGeady, Mulgrew and David Marshall must be due to retire soon they should be brought into the youth set up, Ross Wallace I see is at Burnley as a youth coach now and Paul Caddis the manager of Hereford. Cillian Sheridan always seemed a decent character as well who has good experience of being about in football.

Things have worked out well for Kennedy. Fortunate to have survived the Lennon fiasco so good luck to him.
Having a complete refresh of the coaching staff is probably a good thing anyway.
But aye, shows how much ‘loyalty’ we can expect from Ange.
Kyogo and Hatate will be there soon.

Nah.. new manager bringing his own team is much better. There are still lots of good longterm Celtic men at the club to help whoever comes in.
