Maresca is obviously highly rated as a coach but he could end up being the next Pep who needs a break or just someone with great ideas who can bounce off a manager and then implement how he’s told. Southampton are now ran by Wilcox who was City’s head of youth so he’ll know Maresca as well.

I just don’t see in the modern game how an old school manager is going to win us the 90+ points needed year after year to win the league these days. Minority again but I’d always take the ‘riskier’ younger, inexperience guys that’s going to try be inventive than the old school blood and thunder type.

Iraola would definitely be one of my top picks. Not just how good his football is but his high relentless pressing has gave Barca and Madrid lots of problems and he done in on peanuts over there.

 

As stated previous we should be only looking at Rodgers with Scott Brown coming in with him in some capacity

 

I’d be open to Muscat coming in, I understand the logic of it, but I doubt that’s under consideration- who’s knows.

Maresca isn't anywhere near my top targets, but he's way ahead of Rodgers and Moyes.

Yes. We have approached Potter and Marsch directly yesterday.

We approached Bodo Glimt regarding Knutsen and have since approached him.

We have approached Man City through Lawwell Jr regarding Maresca. A short conversation with Maresca’s agent has also taken place.

We also approached one other manager who, as of a couple of hours ago (and maybe still the case because I can’t * keep up ) hadn’t been mentioned in the media.

Moyes will be approached after tomorrow’s game, though I wouldn’t be surprised if a conversation has already taken place between him and Desmond to gain a better understanding of his plans.
