Love spanish football and watch it far more than the EPL but Vallecano have been excellent. Always exciting to watch. I was very surprised he turned down Leeds approach, even though everyone could see it was a poisoned chalice.

Knutsen, Iraiola, Potter, Rodgers and Maresca. Happy to talk to them all but Knutsen or Iraiola for me.

 

The club didn't allow him to speak to Leeds is what I read, so he declined an extension of his contract at it's expiry

 

Gallardo would be the dream for me but don’t think we’ll even try for it. Knutsen Potter and Iraola after that.

If we’re wanting more a risk and younger guy then Farioli.

The club will see Moyes as the obvious and ‘safest’ appointment we could make but I just don’t see anyway he’s a success here. His football is against everything we need to break down 11 men on the edge of the box everyweek.

Think McGowan has said Iraola is/will apply for it so hopefully we actually interview him and look at him seriously. By all accounts his budget is a joke in La Liga but regularly gives the bigger teams a games and plays brilliant football.

 

That could well be the case, mate. Again, I'd be surprised if they did reject the advances though. They've never really been in any grave danger of relegation and I'm sure they could have demanded a pretty penny for him. Leeds were desperate for him.

I could be wrong though. I can't really remember it properly. I know he didn't go there, that's about it.

Go all out on Potter or Knutsen. Apparently Potter has lost his confidence after Chelsea though so I'm not sure how he'll cope with the expectation here.

Alternatively he could do a Brendan and use us to rebuild his reputation. Potter could be another Eddie Howe, before he bombed at Chelsea he would have been well out of our reach. He might still be.

I really want Knutsen though, if that doesn't happen give me someone like Iraola or Farioli. Would be happy with any of them.

Do not want Moyes, Rodgers or Maresca. But if push comes to shove and we don't get any of the names mentioned I'd begrudgingly take Maresca.

 

Out of that shortlist and probably a controversial opinion, Moyes has the potential to make us well organised and difficult to beat in European competition..

Domestically, the football would be dire to watch however.

What about Muscat? Just seen apparently talk of him being contacted by a club in Europe but it could be from Spurs or us..

Maresca although I'm saying is a huge gamble to take has knocked back Southampton I think and Leicester want him or vice versa.....and was straight back to City after Parma. Must have something about him..

Some of the names are actually exciting bar your Moyes'. I'm in the minority where I think he'd be successful but it would be a * chore and a half....and we would likely slip up with * domestic results that shouldn't happen..

Iraola just read another piece about him and really really like the sound of this guy. Could get him in before our game with Bilbao
