I hope we push hard for Knutsen. He’s obvious fit for the role. Come and do 3 years with us and then win your move to a EPL or other decent euro side.

Random name from a whatsapp rumour but Maciej Skorza.

Won the league with Poznań last season then won the Asian Champions League with Uwara last month.

A J-League manager has been mentioned, but Skorza's been at Urawa for 4 months. Really don't think he'll be moving on so quickly. Someone like Kenta Hasegawa is decent, and has been at his club Nagoya for years. I think we'd be looking at him over Skorza.

Whoever it is, can we maybe just take a slight financial gamble and give them a 3 year contract?

The coming weeks and months will be interesting as it should confirm just how much control Nicholson has as CEO.

Because if it starts looking like we fall into old habits then I will start believing that Peter Lawwell is exerting a level a control that is outside his remit as Chairman and is undermining our current CEO.

I really don't want to be having that debate, I want Nicholson to be in a position through his actions that puts to bed any notion that because pistol Pete is back, he's taking over again

"Sources close to Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca say he will blank any conversation over a move to Glasgow until Saturday’s Champions League final is done and dusted.

Also coming under consideration are Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter, Jesse Marsch and Bodo/Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen.

Former Celtic striker Alan McInally has also urged the Parkhead club to ask a question of West Ham boss David Moyes if he leaves the club after Wednesday night’s Europa Conference League final, branding the move a ‘no brainer’.

Rayo Vallecano’s highly-rated Spanish coach Andoni Iraola will also throw his hat into the ring after rejecting a new contract."

Rolling contract is a good option for both parties plus we still got decent compo for Ange & Rodgers.

It’s * all to do with PL, the company is set up and ran the way Desmond wants, they all just do his bidding. Nicholson has been better so far because he doesn’t get involved with needles *, Lawwell just liked to get his name in the media.

Might be a blessing in disguise, even if its only 4 days away it means the club will have the chance to properly look at other candidates instead of defaulting to the city group option straight away.

Bjorkan and Berg are apparently back at Bodo too, could also be good shouts.

Potter, Maresca, Moyes, Marsch definitely on there.

There was a further meeting scheduled today about “less obvious” candidates for the role, so if we approach any of their agents or clubs then I’d expect a few more random names popping up in the media over the next day or two.

I get the impression that Knutsen and Potter are the top targets, but both unlikely.

    Sounds like Maresca..

I do like the sound of some of the others though. That guy Iraola. I watched them think it was against Barca at home no long ago and they played fantastic football, quick and quite aggressive. Went 2 up and Barca scored late on. Tiny club and on a shoestring budget..

Anytime i seen their highlights they looked similar, particularly at home..

Looks bit of a mixed bag all in him..

Could be a masterstroke or a disaster going by his previous jobs :giggle1:

One things for sure....I bet we'll have loads putting their name in to the hat.....so something could change..

Looks like Maresca though just now..

Potter, Muscat and Iraola are interesting ones to me..

Surprised there's been zero talk of Muscat tbh. Basically followed Ange and been extremely successful taking over, and if we wanted to continue our current style he'd be up there.

Not saying he's my first choice, but thought he'd have been mentioned by now.

In no particular order I’d be happy with any of the following: Gallardo, Muscat, Potter, Rodgers, Bielsa

The problem is though I can’t see any of them get it

Genuinely didn't know that Iraiola was a free agent. Get him in right now. Over Knutsen.
