Who could we replace Ange with?

Enzo Maresca is my preferred choice David Moyes as a close second

 

Forgot about Muscat, I’d take him before Maresca as well.

Said earlier but I'd be ok with Maresca IF we brought a DOF with him.

Not my first or second choice, but I don't think he'd be a complete dud, his Parma stint was nearly 2 years ago, he's surely learnt a lot since then, especially as Pep's number 2.

We should still be trying to go for the likes of Potter, Knutsen and Gallardo first, 100%, and I'd probably take Muscat over him too, but I don't see him as a terrible choice, probably in the middle.

 

Might try and get myself a ban for my own sanity until we announce someone.

Aye I just don't know much about him..

Even before today I didn't really know about his short stint or how he got on at Parma..

I think he would need a lot of help with who came in alongside him for a young coach trying to follow on from what we've just had and the demands. If Kennedy and Strachan go then he'd be even worse off..

 

I hope so. Ideally someone who can build on the current squad and make progress in Europe. Is that too much to ask for?

Maresca is a MASSIVE, MASSIVE punt.

If it's true that talks have been had between Knutsen and Ajax then we're *. That's a simple decision to make. Better league, more money, bigger name.

If "Lawells man" thinks Maresca is a goer, then as usual, DD is playing pin the donkey on the tail with our future.

Was Maresca our next man if Ange didn’t want to come? Seems like we probably haven’t updated the shortlist since then as things were going so well with Ange. Be a pretty lazy appointment, but you never know might work a treat or be a disaster.

The thing that gets me with the Maresca chat is that he'll be a massive gamble at a time when we have the finances and stature to attract others who are a safer bet.

Having said that, I'd much rather Maresca than Rodgers, Moyes or MON. Those three I'm not even willing to contemplate taking on.
