I don't think keeping the players is the issue so much chosing them and letting them call the shots and undermining the coach at every turn. Ange isn't Manger there, he is Head Coach he won't have the control and over sight he has here and ultimately will have a DoF and Levy telling him what to do. Recipe for disaster but he's made his bed.

Knutsen would be my 1st choice but would be happy with Maresca.

Tactically his style of play with city u23s was very similar to Ange, he's spent a year working beside pep who essentially invented the style of play Ange did with us so in terms of transition he'd be smoothest we could get.

Would need to be as head coach tho as clearly wouldn't have experience to have such a wide reaching role as Ange did.

Could probably say same about Knutsen

 

Push the boat out to get Graham Potter- best option imo.

No issues with us approaching city to talk to Maresca, we might as well gauge what he's like in comparison to other candidates.

If he comes in, it needs to be alongside a DOF.

Hes no more qualified than that * Kennedy, and the club (Desmond) isn't gonna waste time enamouring a misnomer coach when he's got a ready made, compliant, and utterly devoted one right here.
