From a position of relative calm and bathing in the glory of another treble we are now facing another crucial period in our history. We cannot * it up and the board need to ensure that they pull out all the stops to ensure our continued domination.

Shouldn't be too much to worry about. For example Rodgers playing....

    Hart
    Johnston CCV Starfelt Taylor
    McGregor Hatate
    Abada Haksabanovic Jota
    Kyogo
Going back to the old attacking midfielder, normal full-backs overlapping, two centre mids playing deep. That team playing the way before under Rodgers looks better than Rodgers old team. Even Turnbull as an attacking midfielder, like the Armstrong role of the old Rodgers team would probaby get 20 a season from in there. Even Kyogo as the 10 behind Oh or O'Riley playing deep with McGregor and Hatate as the 10 etc

They all seem like really strong line-ups that would play well. Not Angeball but should still be pumping teams as the squad is very strong.

Think we would have struggled to keep a few anyway, with hopefully replacements already earmarked, Ange leaving puts those potential signings I'm jeopardy now..

It's essential we get a new boss in quick time.

There are a good few issues with the above:

    -Hart is starting to creak so needs replaced;
    -Taylor is a pretty poor conventional full back as he lacks pace or stature to drive up and down the wing;
    - Starfelt may be for the off.
    - Hatate, is likely to be off and I don’t think we can get away with playing him as a deeper midfielder next to McGregor.
    - Abada will likely go too so need a right winger
    - Kyogo could be off too if rumours are true about turning down a contract and interest from EPL and Bundesliga.

Even if some of the players above don’t go the positive for any manager coming in, is there will be plenty of cash to spend as long as the appropriate talent can be identified.

That is why it’s important we get a manager that is not only a good coach but good in the market or comes with staff around him that are.

Ange said before January that most of our work was done and we werre well down the road with our summer dealings..

There maybe some things that have changed due to him leaving but I'd imagine we'll still be going ahead with players we've spoken too and identified..

Hopefully we have been having dialogue with a new coach so we can get cracking. Lawwell jnr, Nicholson, Lefevre etc should all be working away at this behind the scenes..

He said a lot of things mate, I would be wary of believing a word he says.

Aye but surely if he was saying that to the media and it wasn't true.....he'd have been majorly found out instantly by Nicholson and co on the spot?

True. Need to wait and see but I don't trust or believe a word the man says now.

Ange will have identified players to suit his system to be fair though mate. Do you still go ahead and bring them in when the new manager will more than likely play a different style?

Given the success rate of the ones brought in this year I would seriously doubt it

Aye I get that but I'm hoping we've identified a higher calibre of player for this summer with the healthy state we're in..

More your Souza types from the city group links..

I hope we tweak the system as well rather than get a completely different type of guy in. Brighton are a well run club but also show it can be done with a change in the dugout and be better..

The success rate hasn’t been that bad in all honesty.

I’d definitely be looking for a higher calibre of player, I agree there. Just not sure I’d want to bring in ones previously identified. Unless the new manager feels they can bring something to the table of course.

A new manager coming in alters things completely transfer wise IMO. He has to be given time to asess who's been lined up rather than just being handed them. That would be a step back towards how we used to operate before Postecoglou.

My concern is I can see a good 5-7 players following Ange out the door as he's been that influential. Key ones too.

I'd be astonished if our starting XI was anything like the one posted by ILTC a few above, come beginning of September.

Maybe we get a manager who's reputed enough to make some of them stay?

Siegrest, Kobiyashi, Bernabei not good enough.

Jury still out on Haksabanovic and Iwata

Mooy good when fit but hardly every fit and seems to take an age to get back to full fitness after injury.

I like big Oh but certainly still raw.

    AJ is brilliant
