If it’s him or maresca it’s him everyday of the week you know nothing about football if you think maresca is a better option.

can’t afford to gamble on someone like maresca at this stage needs to have a bit of pedigree at least

Maresca? I'm getting John Barnes vibes. It's a No from me.

This is all very presuptious and highly theoretical, however my question for anyone who answered 'no' to this is -

if BR were to be re-appointed, what are you going to do, stop supporting the Bhoys?

Of course not... or at least I'd hope not. :/

Some of the takes here are mental and fundamentally based on revisionism.

Simple question really - why are people so emotive about Brendan Rodgers if they didn’t think he was all that good? For example, why did we unveil a banner that said “You traded immortality...” if he wasn’t a great manager for us?

Do you think if Lennon (in his second stint) or Deila left mid-season, they would have had the same reaction?

Let’s take this back a few steps - Rodgers was a guy that won ever single domestic trophy that was available to him. He had a more difficult league than Lennon and Deila (who couldn’t do what he could).

Also what is undeniable is that he had a better European record than Ange which included having to navigate 2x CL qualifying phases.

And in before the PSG patter - are people seriously suggesting that getting horsed of PSG is more embarrassing than Leverkusen/Leipzig? Teams that are at least two tiers down from PSG.

Obviously not but he'd have next to no leeway by a sizeable chunk of the support.

At the first bad result, poor performance or cringe line trotted out it would be jumped on.

We're a very attractive proposition as it stands with Champions League football and a good squad with sellable assets for a transfer kitty. We shouldn't be short of good candidates.

A return to the guy who walked out mid-season with basically our whole backroom staff would be a bonkers move IMO

we shouldn’t be if you see the list it’s depressing and that’s the concern the board are tunnelled and pick someone like maresca

well enjoy Maresca over him I know who I’d have and that’s Rodgers can’t believe people would rather have some unknown like Maresca over a proven winner and great coach.

All the people saying no and F off etc (past is the past move on). I need to understand peoples logic as from the list we’ve seen he’s the most qualified and most likely to win things with us.

Who's to say the list the media/bookies are routing is an accurate representation of those interested?

have you ever met a poor bookie? I certainly haven’t. Well press do it get wrong from time to time but like you saw with Ange the more it’s in the press the more likely there is some truth to it

The bookies have had Clarke in the running for our job multiple times, just like Moyes, yet it never was any of them. Candidate list literally frozen in carbonite, like someone had said.
