I would like Clement based on what I've heard in here!

Funnily enough, I fell for Rodgers' BS hook, line and sinker. It's been quite helpful as a kind of vaccine TBH. I more or less believed Postecoglou's spiel, but there was always that little bit of me that remembered Rodgers and held back.

Trying to be as fair to Ange as possible (and playing the devils advocate), I honestly don’t think he directly held talks with Spurs before yesterday. So I do think he “gave us his all” so to speak in the build up to the final and I think to a large degree he was awkward and uncomfortable in dealing with the media because he didn’t know for certain that he’d be going to Spurs.

Should he have had the decency to mention to Desmond, Nicholson or one of the Lawwells that he had an interest in speaking to Spurs at the end of the season? Of course, undeniably. But any talk of Ange deciding to leave being behind our drop off in form for a few weeks is absolutely unfounded.

The first cut is the deepest, as they say.

I’m more disappointed because the connection between the fans, players and manager was so strong and for once I’d add the board into that formula. They were 100% ready to back him to levels I’ve never seen at the club (maybe except MON) and to be completely honest, my biggest fear is that this episode could stop them doing that with someone else in the future.

What's the deal with Marsch? Mind folk raving about him and touting him in the past.
Just cause he had a mare and got Leeds relegated?

I didn't say it was behind our drop off in form and I don't think that it was. I didn't even mention our drop in form.

At the very least, I imagine a new manager might have to earn the right to be trusted with that kind of money over a couple of years, which could delay taking our next step forward quite significantly.

And spent a crazy amount of money in doing it.

I can't fault the board in any of this. I've been really happy with the way the club was being run..hope it doesn't go * up after this.

Didn't seem like he had the character and authority to get his way at Leeds so doubt he'd do that here either. Also his team looked dreadful in defence and clueless in attack. Would avoid personally.

Scouting was on par with the best years of Neil Lennon. I can pray a big name is chosen to lead us into a proper European scrap, and publicly given the stuff Ange reportedly walked away from, just as a wee FU (you could have had this!).

Cheers! Want someone who has an eye for a player and is used to getting value out of modest budgets and also plays with a bit of attacking flair and pragmatism.
As if it's up to me and they'll just hire Moyes and I'll have to suck it up and like it!

Someone described him as a shitebag earlier and I'm sure he came across as pretty timid in interviews etc.

Sorry, I never meant that you had. I meant more generally that people speculating that this was behind our drop off in form a few weeks ago are wide of the mark. I think he gave his all the entire time he was here, I just wish he’d been more upfront with the board (and arguably fans).

Ange's tactical approach and style of play are one thing, but his eye for a player and how he would identify targets based on their character as well as ability are the things I think we'll struggle to replace tbh.

Yeah looked far too emotionally charged in every moment positive or negative. Far from the clear/level headed figure we've been used to in Ange.

It's all just stories we tell ourselves; but FWIW there is a story that makes more sense to me than the ones about him being a mercenary or falling out with Lawwell.

This is a very talented and hardworking man who thought his chance to prove himself had passed him by at his age. Then the Celtic job came up and he finally had his chance. He grasped it with both hands. Yes, he also implied along the way that he was in it to build a legacy, but I imagine that was because in his head, he thought he would be telling the likes of Southampton or Brighton they had to wait a few years. Spurs are, whether people like it or not, a genuinely big club. There will be other chances to go to the EPL on big money but the chance to manage a club like Spurs might NEVER happen again.

This is what he must have been dreaming of for decades. He'll finally have the chance to prove himself working with elite players in currently the best league and against the very best managers. He'll desperately want to take that. Even if he fails, he'll learn a lot and be a MUCH better manager for the experience. At worst, it's his chance to become the best manager he is capable of being. At best, it's a club that can give him a platform to realise his lifelong dreams.

This story genuinely makes more sense to me than the money one. In the absence of the real facts, we're all just choosing to tell ourselves the story that makes most sense to us. Perhaps one day we will know.

This man. Dont think weve had a manager with a better transfer record in the period hes been here. Obviously managers in the past have bought better players but i dont think weve had as many success stories as his or more importantly not many, if any, absolute disasters
