He absolutely shouldn’t be the best available

Champions league group stage, Current Treble winning squad and no doubt £20-£30m to bolster the squad

Rodgers is the easy option for the board, i highly doubt we’ll go back down that road again.

    No.

His recruitment is *, slow possession based football and mostly the fact he’s an egotistical *.

First chance and he’d be back down South again. We need a long term manager that will play the same quick attacking football but can set us up right in the CL.

A lot of people are letting their bitterness override their judgement on this. I wouldn't have Rodgers back as he left under such a cloud it would be better to move on and not revisit that type of hurt. He burned his bridges. But to suggest he isn't a top level manager and coach is just sour grapes.

If he is appointed though I will support him as the club comes first and we have to back the next manager.

Thing that sticks out the most is he was clearly using our resources to scout players outside our budget, Castagne even turned up at Leicester. The second stint is rarely as good and in hindsight we were trending down in his final half a season, opposition adjusted to our tactics- played a lot of meandering keepball and didn’t score a lot of goals. I just wouldn’t trust the guy as far as I could punt him.

That's an understatement. I still remember seeing his line up for the Barca game when he doubled up on the wings.

I said to my mate it's going to be 7 -0, and it was.

Who in their right mind would think it a good idea to funnel Naymar Messi and Saurez TOWARDS your goal.

I’m hoping he won’t be, but if we struggle to attract a top manager to Scotland then I’d much sooner turn to Rodgers than to Moyes, Keane, etc.

    I would but there's about 3 or 4 others I'd rather give a chance.

A lot of good managers who fit the profile we need available atm with no compensation required.

I would be fuckingraging if celtic brought him back, every time there was a sacking any time of the season we would be worried he would jump ship again. But i would be much more angry at the club for bring back someone who shat on our club and left mid season,it would show they simply dont give a * about fans feelings.

Would be a ridiculously bizarre and lazy appointment to re-hire this clown.

Going back to someone who literally jumped ship and caused a toxic atmosphere around the club is insane. It will have proven we've not learnt any lessons, and clearly can't be arsed to look further afield for a better appointment. Probably because it would take too much time and energy.

Let's be real Ange was a lucky diamond that fell in their laps. I dread to think who our next appointment might be, especially if it's this boring, creepy, overrated *. He just got Leicester relegated ffs.

It's so depressing people genuinely want him back. I feel sorry for those that do.

Not even the best coaches go away from home and try to play expansive against PSG and Barca. Rodgers ego gets in his own way. His persistence in playing out from the back also killed us at times and Gordon was hitting high balls to our full backs and then pressure was needlessly back on-top of us.
Lustigs lack of pace was badly exposed and he used to go off injured and then be available for the next game.

I don't think we should be looking at past managers. But if we need to I'd go for MON as a mentor for JK

The worst thing Rodgers did was play boring football in my book. Maybe I'm a cynic but I don't expect loyality from managers or players, it's nice when you get it but it's the exception rather than the rule. I'd take him over some potential managers like Kennedy.

I wouldn't want him back but looking at other names linked there's no doubting he's in a high bracket of managers we could realistically attract. Hoping we go for a fresh face though.

Despite my criticisms of Rodgers and his style, certain players do thrive under him and Cal Mac would be one of them. Jota also.

    Absolutely not.

Ruins players, leaves a wreckage behind, * in the transfer market, absolute * talker and - frankly - first season aside, his football is poor.
