I always felt with Rodgers the players were defeated before we'd even kicked off in europe

So did ange though? Even in the Europa league Leverkusen beat us 4-0 at home going on about 10, then the Bodo disaster.

I felt like that more with Ange than Rodgers to be honest.

Not by much. A point better off in the CL and the same points in the europa group

Not disagreeing with you mate, merely stating that Rodgers didn't have the record in Europe that was being suggested.

I'd agree with that not saying ange has great European record either but just always felt Rodgers was negative in press before we had even played. The psg game was one that always came to mind

    Yes exactly.

Plus when people talk about how well we played against Real Madrid this season at CP - that’s akin to how we played against Bayern Munich a few years back. Craig Gordon pulled a howler.

Also, I am honestly more disappointed taking a hounding of Leipzig twice last season that the games PSG pumped us in. As well as that, Rodgers’ team actually beat an arguably better Leipzig team a few years back.

They were few and far between though. We also had some really really horrible nights.

Couldn’t agree with you more mate, the Bayern game was a game were we could easily have won and put us level on points with them at the time. Had actually forgotten all about the Leipzig game, as you say that was probably a better side than we faced this season.

Yep however not once did i watch us do anything in Europe under Ange, we finally got a decent draw in the group stage this season and we done nothing, embarrassed off Madrid and Leipzig and lucky to draw at home to Shakhtar. Under Rodger’s we had seriously tough draws but came away with a few decent results.

Putting aside how he left us, Rodgers isn't the solution imo. At best, a temporary fix for a season but I'd like us to try and look long term.

We’re not seriously comparing Brendan Rodgers to Neil Lennon are we? It’s like comparing a Porsche to a Peugeot.

Does that current list not give you PTSD
Like I said the way he left soured us. But F me he is the best by far on that list of next managers for us. I’d take him over most if not all of them.

None of the others candidates I’ve seen have his pedigree of coaching at the elite level

That’s because Rodgers is tactically astute and had a plan b we beat Leipzig that night because Rodgers tweaked it

There is talk it will be him is it?.. it's the safest option, I'd love to think we could pull another Ange from oblivion but it's simply not that simple. Someone is pulling the strings with our purchases away from the Japanese players most likely lawwell jnr. Problem is it's anges squad so we will need significant ins and outs

100%. I would take him over Scott Brown, John Kennedy and Neil Lennon as well but for different reasons.

I would struggle to watch Celtic if they appointed Rogers again.

Knuttson then Potter would be my first choices. Moyes and Clarke would be ok but the football would be grim.
