Rodgers has told them he wants to come home

 

It's a terrifying prospect.

It's probably one of the main reasons I'd be amenable to Rodgers coming back.

I shudder to think of the other candidates who'll be considered: Steve Clark, Roy Keane, John Kennedy, Paul Lambert etc.

Really? Cmon mate, did you watch that game today? It was * dross. We won an historic treble and I'm delighted but the performance was * awful, much like most of the big games this season.

Admittedly, this team has played some right good stuff at times, but in all honesty it's been no better than the best we've played under the real greats of this generation.

He has been a good manager over these last couple of years, undeniable, and could have went on to be a great, but much like fraudgers he's * off at the first serious offer that's flashed their knickers at him

 

Please go watch all or nothing you will soon see it’s a disaster of a decision but I understand why he’s going from a financial point of view he will be set up and can say he managed at that level but he will be gone from their after 4 month nothing to do with his ability and more to do with a poison at that club * mourinho and conte couldn’t turn them around arguably the worlds top coaches they players even turned on the Magee who got them to a European final

 

We don't know that it depends if the board are happy to just get a few wins and get a Europa spot. Ange's ambitions will be (or would have been) higher than that.

 

We were * awful that season and the result wasn't a suprise. We won the league after the split from a * poor Aberdeen team.
There absolutely no doubt he improved pretty much every player in the squad that season.
People were calling for Scott brown to retire before he came in

 

He's earned the right to make whatever decision he wants. I'm OK with him if he wants to leave as he at least had the respect to see the season out. I hope he does really well down there. He has handled this situation very unskillfully, though. Clumsily even. Not really a dig at him, just how I see it.

 

A world record treble yet it all seems anti climactic with all the speculation about Ange leaving or staying. All his talk about taking the club to the next level and “we don’t stop” seems very hollow now. The tour to Japan also will be a bit strange with him not at the helm. I can only hope he gets bad vibes after speaking with Levy the loon but probably clutching at straws. Domestically dominant during his tenure but in Europe his tactics were found wanting. I thought he would have liked to rectify that and have another crack in the CL. We move on. Not a legend but thanks for sorting out the shambles we were in when he arrived.

Out of interest how do you think he should have handled it? My gut instinct agrees with you but then I think it was a really awkward situation and his hands were tied a wee bit. Didn't want to commit to then seem disingenuous, didn't want to say he was leaving without anything official.

Obviously in the end just doing nothing seemed uncharacteriscally weak-willed, but not sure how else he could have gone about it.
