It’s definitely the succession planning that’s worrying me more than anything.

From afar, it looks like he’s done most of the rebuilding entirely on his own. Not much else has changed since his appointment as far as I can see.

Nope. Tottenham fans sound miserable and angry at Levy. He's ruined the club, and his flaws are being highlighted. Seriously, it's not a good career move to go to them unless one is desperate to try and recover prestige.

Unfortunately these things never seem to matter much to players and managers…

    These are supporter landmarks only.

I get why people think this but look at Rodgers Last window, with the loans.

Lawwell clearly took the * out of him and his response was to leave.

I would give Ange the money if he was going to stay so we keep moving forward.

Could say the same for Slot instead he leveraged Spurs interested to get himself a better contract at Feyenoord.

That's it in a nutshell, people on here trying to twist things and making out like he's been spinning lies or whatever need slap. I don't think us or him expected a job this size of spurs to fall in his lap, any manager/player with ambition to play at the highest level would be mental not to consider an offer from a top half EPL team.

Or they knew he wasn't committed so weren't willing to trust him signing players. We broke our transfer fee to sign Eddie for him and then he tried to * off to China with Dembele

Slot is only 44 years old compared to Ange, I can see why Slot said no cause he thinks he needs to stay at Feyenoord.

It’s the nature of the business we’re in, players and managers who do exceptionally well will generate interest unfortunately.

Put it this way, if you’d have said to me the day he walked in the door that Tottenham would have had him top of their shortlist within 2 years I’d have said you were mental. Not that it makes it any easier to take.

I think with Rodgers he wanted to sign certain players and they knocked it back like the right back he signed at Leicester and the Spanish boy who was a right back too.

I think the damage was done the previous window when they didn’t get his targets.

Rodgers (having to stop calling him the rat now) was clearly for the off. Everyone knew it in the August, that's why he was only given loans

He wasn't top of their shortlist, they have sounded out umpteen managers who all cold shouldered them. Ange is about the 4th or 5th manager they have sounded out and the first to (possibly) bite.

I didn’t think he was for the off if I’m honest.

Meh. Watched the Facebook live from Celtic Park there, never mentioned anything about coming back stronger next season or anything and looked a bit emotional waving walking off at the end.
That'll be that then I guess.

Agreed. His head has been turned and his his heart will never be in the place where ours are and DD and PL have long memories. Even if it doesn't workout during talks. I'm wary of folk willing just to put Celtic in a corner at the drop of a hat.

Might sound mental, but I think we could do worse :giggle1:

Nah, unfortunately for all his supposed coaching prowess, he about as inspirational as a shoebrush
