He absolutely does. First year in Europe was a free hit, but we were comfortably beaten by Bodo. Then last year we played some very good stuff at times, but failed to win a game and finished bottom of a group containing a Shakhtar team that were ripped apart and were playing home games in a different country. Domestic success is all well and good and I never take it for granted but Europe is where Celtic managers are ultimately judged.

MON still the best manager of my lifetime for that reason.

 

For someone who isn't a celtic fan I don't think a handful of european games trumps a good level EPL job. It's a * state of affairs but that's where we and most other european leagues outside of the 'big' ones are at.

Many (players in particular) move on for bigger money and a higher calibre of team to play against week in week out, many come crawling back for the adulation after the fact when they realise that there aren't many clubs like Celtic in the world.

 

And as much as i dont want Rodgers anywhere near this again....Would he not be loosing out on so much money coming back here?

I honestly dont think he would get a reception anything like the first time round....And imagine him * off again in a year or 2 time if another boyhood club came calling
