Who could we replace Ange with?

I think continuity in terms of the style of play is probably one of the biggest factors for me. It would be grim to go from exciting, attacking football to something absolutely turgid to watch. Maybe it’s naivety on my part, but given how they’ve generally been pretty decent (in footballing terms at least) in the Ange-era, I’m at least semi-confident that the board won’t * around as much as they have in the past.

Knutsen seems like the sort of guy we should be going for, admittedly based on the very little I’ve seen of Bodo.

Rodgers should be an absolute no go. I don’t even doubt that he’d be a decent enough option in the short run, but he’s toxic as *.

 

I don’t want Moyes. Personality of a bin. He’d probably keep Ajeti as well.

 

I agree with all of this I think Rodgers can be his own worst enemy and needs to let someone else take care of other things that are not his own men ripped up a scouting department to cater for more coaches

I think it's because of Ange leaving where the lack of excitement stems from.

Knutsen would be very exciting. As would Potter. Even Rodgers coming back, on our terms, would be a great move.

In a few weeks time, if this has went the way some of us expect it too, the new manager could be breath of fresh air around the place. It can save things from going stale.

 

This is my overriding feeling on all this. Was expecting to be inconsolable when the day came (obviously still not official yet) but am already excited about what comes next.

 

Knutsen on paper seems a good shout if he's ready to leave bodo now, but wouldn't be surprised if we end up with another relatively unknown (to us) manager with city group links again.

 

Yeah, I've always felt like that. Rodgers, had he not left mid season, should have left that summer anyway. The football was going stale, there was clear issues between him and the board and there was clearly interest from other parties.

I'd have liked another year out of Ange, absolutely no doubt about it but we should be looking to change the manager every 3-4 years anyways. The same way we change up players, management needs to be freshened up also.

 

Exactly. Every aussie stated his best season was his second. We've had that. Things got a bit stale near the end of the season. I'd want a manager with similiar style but one where he can keep us tighter in Europe.

 

100% mate. We think back to the Rodgers situation the biggest issue was the fact he left when we were right in the middle of it. Wouldn't be the case with Ange, he'd be leaving us in superb condition and giving us the respect we deserve.

Just hope this doesn't end up with Ange getting heavy abuse for daring to leave. Aye it will be disappointing but this could be a good thing, so long as Nicholson and Mark Lawwell keep their eyes on the prize.

 

Yeah. Look, I want him to stay. Offer me Knetil Knutsen for 3 years now or Ange for one more year, I'm choosing the Don.

However, clubs like ours especially do need to refresh and reset, players and managers. It's different if you're Man Utd or City, where you have multi millions to keep managers and players and are literally playing at the top of the game year in, year out. We don't have that and that's why there needs to be contingency plans put in place for all scenarios.

 

Anyone who gives him abuse is a clown, but you know it'll happen, same bunch of * that never post on here all year except when we have a bad result. A mixture of undercover huns and general moonhowlers.

He said from the start don't get too attached, and I'm sure there was a quote from him along the lines of while he's at a club he'll work and build as if he's going to be there forever, knowing he won't be, because that's football.

Bottom line has to be if he leaves us now we're in a far better place than when he arrived, you can't really ask for more than that from a manager.

 

That is a certainty. * sake it happened as soon as we started dropping points AFTER winning the league, pure outrage, all the players were * etc.

 

Would probably need to take their DOF as well
