We won't get anything for him. He'll just inform Celtic that he isn't going to renew his contract and that'll be that.

I don't think Ange thinks like that. He won't be focused on the 'what ifs', he'll be fully positive about implementing his methods to turn them around (assuming these rumours are true, of course). I'm not saying that he'd take the job without doing his due diligence and just accept anything. But they've brought this Scott Munn fella from the City Group for a reason, and it may be that Levy is taking a step back (relatively speaking) to let him and Ange get on with it.

Another thing to consider is that although I'm sure Levy can be a total ball ache to work with, some of these managers who have fallen out with him also have huge egos of their own. They're probably wanting all sorts of transfer funds made available; Mourinho went public when at MU complaining about not getting a new CB, and stuff like that. Even here Rodgers wanted more money for transfers. Maybe that was reasonable, but the point is that Ange hasn't shown himself to be like that - he'll agree a budget and then work within it. If anything, he's been highly responsible reinvesting the club's money. If he's like that at Spurs, maybe he's the manager that Levy gets along with.

 

He is on a 12 month rolling contract. I.e. every day he wakes up, there is 12 months left on his Celtic contract. We will get compensation.

 

Strange how people still don't understand what a 12 month rolling contract means after all this time.

 

That's a lot of nonsense. His contract renews automatically every year on the 1st of July unless either him or Celtic signal their intention to end it in advance.

He'll just say on Monday that his contract finishes in July and that's it done.

Hopefully end up with egg on my face, but it surprises me no end that people here are still under the impression that players/managers would turn down a high level EPL club if they come calling.

Money, prestige, excitement, quality of competition etc. Unless you have a really strong emotional tie here (and regardless of what Ange says, you don’t establish that in 2 years) they’re absolutely no reason you’d turn down the likes of Tottenham or Arsenal.

Would love to see the Bodo manager as his replacement.

 

It is strange isn't it. People believing that waking up every day with a new contract is realistic within contract law.

Legal secretaries wouldn't get a minutes rest.

 

3 top managers couldn't work with Levy. Managers with reputation. He shafted them. He'd shaft anyone. And Ange has some ego. He wants things done his way. I believe you on the due diligence thing. Outcome? We'll soon be hearing how Tottenham have shifted to another target.

 

Why would either party agree to that? That’s not how it works
