Aye just thinking about abada goals and assists and age

A think you will be surprised what we get for welsh and turnbull tbh

You got £2m upfront for Christie who had 4 months left on deal and another £1.5m in addons

It just means we spent £40m in the first year under Ange if so. They might have been in the accounts but the deals weren’t agreed until the summer and they went through in the summer.

So we paid Benfica and Spurs £15m last season? What was the point in loaning them then?

All ifs and buts. No guarantees there. I'm speculating on base budget alone which will be around £15m. Don't know why that's hard to believe considering you've just agreed with someone that said the exact same thing as me lol

Try before you buy. Whether they’re in this year or last years accounts is completely irrelevant to me. We backed Ange with 3 major signings this season in Jota, CCV and Johnstone. Three of them cost about £17m. That was with less sales than we could potentially get this summer. He’ll be heavily backed.

If that's the case that only proves my case. We only spent £12m this summer. Will be the same next summer (unless we sell someone)

But you just said we bought them before loaning them that'd my point lol

Christie had banged in a barrow-load of goals for us in previous seasons, was/is a regular international and had did it in Europe for us too.

I don't think we'll have the same interest in Turnbull. I think he'll do well wherever he goes but he doesn't have the same pace & stamina that modern clubs desire.

I didn’t say that? If they were in last season’s accounts, they’ll likely have been in them at the very end, after we had loaned them and triggered the clauses right away

All semantics. If that's the case though then that means we only spent around £5m last summer? Not very promising if we're basing it off that. Can't really judge Ange's first season in the windows as it was a complete rebuild job

No but if Jota/CCV were in the first year accounts, we would have spent over £36m in bringing players in. We did, however, bring in over £30m in player sales.

That's because we also lost 15 players which freed up millions in wages and needed replaced. We don't need 15 replacements next season. £15m will roughlybe our budget. There's no danger we're spending £30m+ in the summer like some are predicting even if we sell someone.

Btw just for the record I would love to be wrong and I actually agree with you that we need to spend more than £15m but based on last seasons spend and majority of our summer business 90% of the time I can't see it.

Paperwork and time constraints to get the deals done on deadline day August 21. CCV was literally signed last few seconds of window it was that tight

I didn't agree with that being a budget I said he should be * if that's all he got to start. Tierney and frimpong are moving 100%

As I said above ange said at the AGM we now need to he aggressive in our transfer approach it is now the time for that to take us to the next level.

To do that you need 4 or 5 the calibre and perhaps the value of jota/kyogo/ccv and that's costing you upwards of £20m!

I don’t see us going back in for him given last years saga. It also seemed very convoluted as it can often be with South American players and ownership models, especially when you through the likes of City Group in the mix, advisors, a parent club, previous clubs still owning part of registrations etc.

It also seems that at times the player doesn’t have much say and the advisors are more like handlers and make the decisions on their behalf.

    That's exactly how it looks,

All hypothetical but what would your expectations be for a fair budget looking at projections? I think ange being given £20m to £30m to be "aggressive" isn't outwith the realms of possibility. I know we are about to announce upgrades to Lennoxtown and Barrowfield at ange request but you aren't going to put "cash" into all of these works doesn't make sense from an accounting point of view. What seems to be forgotten by many is celtic is run like a business foremost
