Time will tell mate. Personally can't see him going unless we get a £15m+ bid which is highly unlikely due to his age. Even if he was to be sold we're no finding a good enough replacement for him within our budget. Sometimes it's worth just holding onto certain players and let them run down their contracts if it means retaining quality on the pitch.

As for the squad stagnation under Rodgers. He also checked out mentally about midway through the 2nd season which didn't help . I remember hearing he threw a strop because he wasn't on Arsenal's shortlist after Wenger left

    Haven't see
And I don't see anyone going anywhere close to that for a 29 year old playing in Scotland.

    He's going nowhere

Finding a reliable goalscorer with half of Kyogo's work rate would be hard, let alone a proper successor. I'd rather let him run his contract down, too.

Me too but we follow a stringent business model and allowing a key asset to run their contract down will not happen. He has helped fire us to 4 trophies in 2 seasons potentially 5.

He has also helped the club secure direct UCL group stage entry twice which is worth around £65m minimum over the 2 seasons.

The price is set to start high if someone matches it and Union Berlin are 100% sniffing then it could be difficult to turn cash down for both player and club.

Union Berlin are a good side, but finances should not be our concern, business models be damned.

I'm all in on our business model and recognize the need to sell. Not only does it benefit us financially but also makes us more attractive to players we sign etc. That said kyogo is one of a very few we have had in recent years that is probably worth more to us running the contract down than accepting what I feel we would realistically get for him.. 15 mill and Nicholson will be driving him to the airport mind

Need the business model for FFP and to allow us to continue bringing in good players without always selling the best ones we have.

FFP is all about what you bring in against certain other criteria which will be why we operate the way we do Net Spend wise usually

Maybe January, but I reckon they'll all want another CL crack first.

    If they go, they go.

The new motto under Ange is don't become attached to players, no one is bigger than the club.

Full confidence their replacement will be as good if not better.

Off their head if they sell Kyogo now. More in their line to improve upon the weak signings they made last season.

I embrace the squad changing all the time. Because the league is basically a walk in the park, complacency comes in pretty quickly I think.

The team needs fresh players, managers, coaches with different styles and personalities.

Does anyone really look back at Eduoard, Dembele, Wanyama, Van Dijk etc and wish we had them for longer? It’s had zero impact on success.

Outwith Larsson in the last 25years every other player has been easily replaced imo.
