    Regressed again.

He’s always looked stiff on the ball. The difference between Taylor on the ball and Ralston is night and day.

Sorry big Tony, but you are not the answer. The kind of player you rotate in in the early rounds of the cup against lower league opposition.

So glad he got that spell of being vital for us and looking a proper option, hope it gives the big man goosebumps looking back on it when he's retired. But he is not good enough.

We're an AJ injury away from Ralston starting against the likes of PSG, Man City etc. A genuinely nightmarish prospect.

As a club we're caught between a rock and a hard place here. While they are generally fine domestically (even that is debatable lately), most of our back ups are simply not good enough for European football.

Not sure how we overcome this? In an ideal world we'd bleed some of the promising youngsters so they can deputise, but do we even have youth players of any real quality? I think rolling the dice on "young talents" like Bernabei might be a solution but even then he's been a disaster.

He’s more than fine as back up, we’re not Man City or Madrid who can appease class players kicking their heels on a bench or the stand.

He wasn't "more than fine" today or last week was he? I can't remember the last time Ralston had a great game, genuinely.

Back in the Strachan days we had Wilson as backup to Hinkel. Ralston is some way off Wilson

    That’s on you, no him.

He has been a Godsend for Ange up until this point and a couple of poor games doesn’t change that.

Is it maybe due to lack of game time. He's had a few injuries since the world cup break but he's hardly played in the last 5 months.

Last year he looked more than good enough to be back up but he was playing a lot more regularly.

Difficult one tho coz he needs games to develop and improve but playing the way he is he's not gonna get minutes

It always takes him a few games to get up to speed.
Then whether he's good enough to rely upon if AJ is out is another debate.

Was poor, but unfortunately Walker and Hakimi might not want to settle for the bench.

Nowhere near it unfortunately, looks slower and his first touch is * abysmal. I know he hasn’t played much but we need far better.

Wilson was first choice then moved to the left. Wilson was a far better player. Then his injuries.

Plenty of other positions we need to look at before RB.

If his issue is needing a few games to get up to speed then he’s not much use as a backup.

His lack of mobility is a major concern. He has a good engine but he's very slow..

He also stands way too far off his man when a cross balls coming in from his side. I've seen the likes of Carter-Vickers go over and pull him on it..

Just mo enough quality. Even his first touch and passing are miles off it..

Likable player and done a good job last season....but we can get much better..
