We need 4 quality signings in to be able to be competitive in Europe. We need to get rid of the dead wood. Too many fringe players who bring nothing to the team

 

Would argue we need at least 5 players ready to walk into our starting 11 to save us an embarrassing CL campaign.

GK, LB, CB, CM, RW

 

If people think we only need 1 first team starter which I've seen before, then I don't know what planet they're on..

We need first team wise at least
A right winger of pedigree who can beat a man, use his pace to get us up the park and provide some magic with moments and goals/assists..

We need a strong, mobile left back who can comfortably overlap and deliver decent balls and add some physicality to our defence..

We need another box to box type in midfield with em engine and some dynamism..

Then we should be going for players who are good enough to challenge at the very least at
Keeper who is commanding, has quick reflexes and decent on the deck
Centre half who is dominant as *, mobile and can play
Another winger/possibly versatile to play up top
Another midfielder/maybe who can play as 10 also and link the play
Another right back to challenge Johnston as Tony isn't a realistic threat..

So many of our fringe players can go to be honest and replace with genuine quality to compete/takeover who is in their positions right now..

Fair Enough, I wasn't aware of the wider context of your post.

We do not need a rebuild but I still think it's way off the mark to say we don't need 100% starters.

For me we need players to come in and immediately take the places of Taylor, Mooy/ORiley and Abada/Maeda. You could now add Joe Hart to that list.

 

Nah. Iwata at DM alone is going to help a lot. A GK and CB or LB are the only signings that we should make to improve first team options. And the only man I could see us sign that's a good enough LB is Tierney.

 

Tierney isn't signing for us. Players will be available who are good enough, it's about finding them.

 

Also, get a set piece specialist in and some height. The amount of corners we take that go short, pass, pass, pass back and side to side that goes absolutely nowhere....defies belief. I'm sick of the sight of them..

Get some height attacking quality balls in..

A clinical penalty taker from somewhere as well. Doesn't have to be a striker. Can be anyone but someone we see as a first pick..

 

Ange needs a window like his first, because apart from AJ all the other windows have been pretty average.

Hatate and O'Riley don't seem to have the consistency. Maeda has great pace but not much trickery.
Haksa flatters to decieve, Koby has already been dropped in favour of a midfielder.

Iwata might come good and I still have high hopes for Oh.

But AJ apart nobody has had and impact anything like Kyogo Jota CCV Abada, and I'd even add Starfelt to that list.

That would eliminate 3 club grown (5 with Johnston and Montgomery) and 1 homegrown. I don't think we can afford to do that right now.

I wouldn't give up on Ralston just yet, and possibly Welsh also. Add Mickey Johnstone in and we have 3 club grown players that might be able to offer something, but if not can at least help with the quota.

I can't think of any other Scottish players who would be a better option, other than some of our B team players.

 

Mooy's set pieces are good. As for height, we could sacrifice pace for physical strength and sign that Mbuyamba guy. Oh is the only other player who could be of use to us at set pieces that's already with us.
