Coming in for a lot of flak down south

Personally in terms of quality I really don't see the difference between him and Zinchenko.

But it has become clear that lad's career is taking a bit of knock because of the injuries

Zinchenko is comfortably better technically, even without the injuries having an affect on Tierney.

Tierney is a great athlete, very good defender, and has a good cross/cut back. But he is actually very average when it comes to overall technical ability.

Arteta does the inside fullback as well, Zinchenko's one of the best in the world in that role. Possibly the best, because Kimmich hasn't done that in ages and is just a midfielder now.

He'll go to Newcastle, him and Trippier will be unreal.

The only danger with that is can his body cope with a full season these days? For the outlay needed for him, I dunno if many would gamble on it.

How much do u reckon Arsenal would look for ?

Trippier is obviously older but he only cost £12 million.

Can see Tierney going for £15million tbh

January rumours were talking £35m mate, which I don't quite believe and seems hopeful from them tbf.

But he was linked to City and Newcastle at the time,so you would add some extra millions on wouldn't you

On a quick Google Daily Mails quoted the Sun at a £30m Newcastle bid.

So probably nothing in it haha

And with me googling there, seen he's still only 25. That makes sense he's that age, but he feels like he's been around forever now. His days at Celtic seem a long time ago.

Honestly though, I blame Rodgers for a lot of his issues now, and he knew what he was doing when he was doing it. And no wonder he left when he did, we showed a lack of regard for him

Aye he wasnt the only player Rodgers ran into the ground at us.

KT would always want to play but as a young explosive full back the manager needs to step in but he kept playing and playing him

He's not played a full season since then though, when he played at Arsenal he was one of the best players and touted as a future captain again.

They had to get a replacement though, due to the fact he kept breaking down again. 20/30 games isn't reliable

He was giving Rogic jags to play Dundee and *, Rodgers is a manager who had the sports science in place, and understands it. He knew what he was doing.

It took Rogic a year to recover from that. An Ange pre-season to get him back really.

We are just very, very lucky Calmacs a freak of nature apparently

Aye I've got a couple mates who are Arsenal fans and see the way the would talk about him as future captain.

I do wonder if at times he perhaps tries too hard in training?

By all accounts tbf, he's intense as * in training as well. Arteta had an interview about it early in his tenure that I loved, cos players complained about it and he told them that's what ye should be doing haha

Rodgers was a * to Tierney. Shouldn't have played him at all in his last season.

Contributed big time to him going in the end.

People can talk smack about Scottish football all they want.

But without injuries, which I hope he can overcome, KT has experienced and lived in the most harshest footballing environments around and has the champions mentality.

Now in terms of technical ability, ok I accept he may not be as strong on the ball as Zinchenko... but I do feel injuries going back to us till now have severely held back KT from developing.

There used to be a raw pace and directness that was great to watch down the left with him which I dare suggest that if he could get his swagger back, Arsenal would be incredible down that side with KT and Martinelli
