I doubt that very much. If you are suggesting worse matches, he was still a level above the rest.
When you consider that Brown carried McGregor and the rest of that midfield on his back for years, then he would entitled. to be sub par sometimes.
The point still stands, McGregor has a bad habit of hiding against the Huns, similar to Forrest.
Brown never hid in any game.

Hiding like when we went 1-0 down at Ibrox last April and Cal carried the ball into their box single handed and created the opportunity that got us back in the match?

Hiding like in the first Derby this season when he had them on strings?

Hiding like when he rag dolled the wee fudd Raskin?

He has good games against them and bad games, like all players. His bad games have been the result of them tactically targetting him because they know if they stop Cal they stand a good chance of stopping us.

The mole is definitely targeting him to shut him down in games and their was a few times yesterday two zombie players were tackling him to stop him passing the ball through to our wingers or forward line .
It's up to Ang to counter these tactics with either matching up in midfield or go two up top but we have seen over the last four games the score line been tight .

End of the day he is just a very very good footballer, not superman. If they are doubling up on him and he isn't getting back up because Starfelt is having to do the defending of at least 3 players (Ralston just about held his side up) then not a lot he can do. The ref let Cantwell foul him up and down the pitch with no cards shown and yet Cal got a yellow for his first foul in the match. He wasn't hiding, just having a 'mare for reasons that were very apparent.

They did the same * to Tam in the cup semi last year. Minute the ball came to him Bassey was quite literally rugby tackling him and being allowed to by the ref.

What he is going to achieve next month after we beat ICT is literally mind boggling.

His Hampden record alone is mind boggling never mind captaining Celtic to yet another Treble. A Treble won by dominating the 2nd best team in the country in all 3 competitions over a sustained period of an entire season.

    Relentlessness personified.

I don’t want to start going through the many games I have in mind and slating Brown as he is a club legend and has left the club, but he has been one of the worst performers on the park against Rangers on several occasions.

McGregor doesn’t hide in any game. He is one of the bravest players I’ve ever seen in a Celtic jersey. Takes his ball with his back to his own goal, 25 yards out, with several players around him. Always asking for the ball, always tracks his man.

You don’t need to press like a maniac and ultimately leave your back four exposed when inevitably beaten, or try and leave one on someone with a growl on your face to prove to the fans that you are brave and that you care.

This is arrant nonsense. Even looking back at games like the one we lost 1-0 around new year 2018/2019 when he played left back and was our best player.

Subjective truth ?. My recollection of that game McGregor was played out of position at left back, and he was anonymous. There have been numerous games over the last decade against the Huns when McGregor was anonymous or hid, and Brown took the brunt of the battle.I think you will find there are many who will struggle to remember a game where McGregor bossed the midfield against them. For a start he can't tackle to save himself. For a captain he does not rouse the troops, the way a Brown, Robson or Hartley would.

I think his teammates would suggest the opposite. Don’t be fooled because he doesn’t strut about like a stereotypical hard man. He is a superb captain and the players clearly buy into him.

McGregor is an average to good player, and that's about it. I don't see him as captain material, he is not vocal enough or has the stature to be a truly great Celtic captain. The players buy into him because they have no choice but too, the manager lays down the law there.McGregor in a single pivot as a No.6 can't cope with the high press from teams like the Huns who play four in the middle, and higher class teams in Europe, it requires a double pivot to make it work, Saturday was the time to try it, but it did not materialise.

We have seen McGregor getitng over run time and again against the Huns and against better class European teams as the single pivot, it requires two box to box, energetic midfielders beside him to make it work, you are never going to get that with Mooy and O'Riley who are not mobile. The Huns have energised their midfield with Raskin and Cantwell. We will have to do the same next season to be able to compete. McGregor will be 30 next month, we should be looking to source his replacement. This defeatist talk by McGregor after the Ibrox debacle on Saturday of " We have to take our medicine ", is just that, defeatist talk. Not something I would expect to hear from a proper Celtic captain, like Scott Brown.

Nonsense ffs, average to good what does that mean Scott Brown is then? He's not even on the same stratosphere as Cal on a playing point.

He's one if not the best Scottish player around, and let's be honest he'd probably even make a few of top International teams midfield.

Is he out of Tik Tok Todd's back pocket yet? Hopefully he'll smashes him next time!

Defeatist talk after a dead rubber and a couple of weeks before the captain lifts yet another treble.

It's true he pocketed Callum on Sat which annoyed me tbh but now I'm not bothered as we're looking forward to treble. Let them zombies have their day.

Where have you been hiding Daleer ? Still whoring yourself on Kerrydale ?
You've not been seen on here, neither hide nor hair for a long while.
    Trebles ?
Trebles have to be earned. Not taken for granted.

I've seen some * wild reactions to Saturday, but calling McGregot an average to good player is the worst of the lot.
