I just look at 55% of the population to remind myself of that.

 

Lads, I'm not denying he was outstanding for us and head and shoulders above many who played for us. He gave me some of the best life memories I've ever had growing up but I really don't think it warrents a statue. He wasn't even our best ever player! There are many other players I'd have on par with Larson. He just needs that little bit more to warrent having one outside our stadium.

Fergus McCann should have the North Stand named after him. The Fergus McCann Stand.

Lennoxtown should be named after Tommy Burns.

Henrik Larsson should have a statue around Celtic Park. No doubt.

I think the club needs to do something for Bertie Auld in some form as well. Name the suite after him or something. The Bertie Auld Suite instead of The Kerrydale Suite.

 

Once again, if you disagree with leeso you’re almost certainly right.

Therefore Larsson definitely deserves a statue.

Lennoxtown being named after Tommy is one I definitely agree with. But at least he has the plaque outside the stadium.

 

Folk actually suggesting Henrik Larsson of all people doesn't deserve a statue at Celtic park (be it now or after he passes in many years to come), is absolutely * mental.

Shy of winning that UEFA cup final, what more could he have done here?

If his home town club and elsewhere can erect a statue, surely the club he made his name, scored the most goals, went down as a * King! Is a club that surely would want to immortalise the guy?

Honestly to *, if Larsson can't get a statue, who can in the last 30-40 years? And with a view to where the club stands in the world of football, it's unlikely we will see the likes of him at Celtic park, playing the way he did, giving his all, his years of service and consistency etc. So that said, in the next 30-40 years we are unlikely to have anyone half as gifted as him and deserving.

Are people legit processing this? Our club could go 80 years (in theory) with no suitable player deserving of a statue?
I'd be literally saddened to know that no footballer in my life time was ever good enough to deserve a statue at this club.

7 of the prime years of his career, around 300 appearances, about 250 goals (according to Wikipedia) at a time when he was considered one of the world's best players and could have had a choice of places to go. Continues to be associated with, frequent and vocally/publicly support the club...

All jokes aside, this is an absolute no-brainer at some point - provided he wants it, of course
