I wish that was a league result. They have gone from 8 to 2 points behind. Could be a really successful season for the ladies.

As Celtic FC Women continue their push at the top of the SWPL table, we are delighted to announce that next month’s fixture against Glasgow City will now take place at Celtic Park on Thursday, May 11 (KO 7:30pm).

Currently, the Celts sit just two points behind City, and with six games of the inaugural Scottish Women’s Premier League season remaining, Fran Alonso's side are still in the fight for the title.

Speaking on the announcement, Alonso said: “To be able to play at Celtic Park again is an amazing opportunity, especially as we come up against the current league leaders in our push for the title.

“I would love if as many fans as possible could come along and support the Ghirls in what could be a defining game in our season, and hopefully it’ll be a day we never forget.”

The two most recent match-ups between the teams ended in victory for the Hoops, who delivered three points on their travels to Petershill Park. Just seven days later, Celtic then booked their place in next month’s Scottish Cup final, with a 1-0 win over City at Hampden Park.

Tickets to the game will be free to current Season Ticket holders at Celtic Park and U16s.*

Keep an eye on celticfc.com and Celtic FC Women’s official Twitter page for further information regarding ticket sales, which will be announced in due course.

Following on from last season’s cup double success, it has been another fantastic campaign thus far for the Celts, and with it all still to play for at the top of the league, you can help cheer the Ghirls on to victory at Celtic Park.

Hope there is a really good turnout for the Ghirls on the day. In the Cup Final and still within striking distance of the title, just 2 points off top and a handful of games to be played.
