    I like that style of the half socks and thought it's usually flair players who do it. Genuinely think in CCV's case his legs are too muscular to wear his socks up.

    Can you imagine what he would've played like if he wasn't injured?

    Incredible.

    Hopefully gets his surgery or whatever is needed. Silver lining is that it may put off potential suitors knowing he'll be recovering from whatever he has.

    I reckon the plan is for a centre back pairing of CCV and Kobayashi next season, Starfelt will leave I think.

    Would have been good to give CCV and Koba a few games together but at least Kobayashi will get a run of games.

    A colossal performance, one of the best centre back defensive performances you’ll ever witness for us. He was heroic and won us that game.

    If you need to call the season early, then thats the performance you want to go out on. He’s something else.

    If he goes on to have a successful operation and remain completely injury free afterward (touch wood) then we’ve managed this superbly well.

    I don’t think anyone can deny we don’t achieve our goals without him this season.

    I know recency bias is a thing.

    But have we ever seen such a more consistent CB for us than CCV?

    He doesn't strike you as the smooth operator like VVD but as sheer defensive unit of a human, I'll put my neck out and say CCV is the best we've seen in the modern game.

    CCV won't hit the levels in his career that Van Dijk has but for me comparing their time with us there isn't much in it.

    I still maintain he’s our most important player. I’m a bit disappointed he seems to be getting overlooked for player of the year, kyogo and Hatate have been brilliant but ccv has been good in every single game this season.
