Ryan himself told me when he got drunk on Pulse cider and got me to swear that I'd never tell anyone, ha ha the joke's on him!

Former Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie looks set to land Celtic another £1m due to a ‘survival clause’ in his Bournemouth deal a source has told CeltsAreHere. This news is music to the ears of the Parkhead club and the Bhoys in green, who have been watching their former star’s progress in the English Premier League with interest.
The Scottish international left Celtic in the summer of 2021, not long after Ange Postecoglou was hired as the new Celtic boss. The Hoops got a small fee from the Championship side at the time, but it’s clear that the addons in Christie’s contract were always going to be pivotal.

Celtic received £1m when Bournemouth were promoted to the English Premier League, and now look set to land another £1m due to their impressive performance this season. The English club has put space between themselves and the drop after beating Southampton on Thursday evening. While they’re not safe yet, Bournemouth are in a good position going into the final part of the season.

This news will no doubt be greeted with delight by Celtic if the money does come in. Michael Nicholson will have been keeping a close eye on Christie’s progress since he left the club. The midfielder was a fan favourite during his time at Parkhead, and his departure was a blow to the Bhoys in green when Ange was looking to rebuild

But the silver lining to that is we continue to profit from the deal which can go straight into Ange Postecoglou’s coffers for the summer transfer window. The Australian coach has already made some shrewd signings in his time at Celtic, and the additional funds will no doubt help him to strengthen the squad further.

As for Christie, his time at Bournemouth has been something of a mixed bag. He has been in and out of the team this season, and his performances have been somewhat inconsistent. But there’s no doubt that he has the talent to succeed at the highest level, and his former club will be delighted to see him doing well.

He would have done well in Ange’s system I think.

Still, couldn’t stand him for a period during that disaster Covid season. He could be a really greedy * too.

Did it not turn out that was partly down to Lennon's instructions?

I heard the revenue lost on match balls was the reason we couldn’t offer Forster a permanent deal.

Just skimming through the forum and passing time.

Came into this thread and would 100% agree with you.

I think in the early days before he was sold you could see the Christie that was full of energy and ability and seemed to immediately flourish under Ange.

He'd have been a great component of Ange's style of play I bet, because I dare say, that he's nowhere near as pacey, but he's got the stamina to rival Maeda

Fair * to him. If Rangers ex-players had same kinda heart they mibbes could have saved their club.

That’s a brilliant gesture. And tbf to him too, percentage wise I bet that’s a fair chunk to his wage; can’t imagine he’s on loads

Their lot was too busy rinsing their club.

I've no real time for ICT at all, but fair * to Christie.
But it feels like an empty gesture as they aren't gonna get the 200k and they aren't gonna be able to see out the season surely.

He'd be better buying the club out right.

When Lenny left and it came out the two attacking tactics we had was Christie to shoot on sight or get the ball to Eddy quick as possible, I felt * bad for Christie. Got absolutely slaughtered, playing out of position and carrying out his manager’s instructions. And we went for his throat as a selfish * out for only his own trying to score screamers and get a move.

We had a small glimpse of a ‘nearly’ sorta moment, with Christie under Ange. That season under Ange he had the 4th highest assists in our team. He left about 3/4 games into the season. Nearly stayed because the impact Ange had on him, and that could have been an incredible partnership together him and Ange. Nearly happened. Didn’t.

And now it’s all said and done, Christie played a massive part in 2/3 Trebles for us. And up until the last season of disaster that scarred the frustration of Christie and the managers * version of tactics… he was * really good for us

Sounds like the start to a controversial Celtic opinion. Was thinking the exact same earlier today when this thread got bumped.

Obviously a decent guy too, with strong roots back to Inverness.

I’ve got more on that theory as well, his Da made our support turn on him more than his performances did. He kept doing interviews about him needing to leave and up the level he’s playing. And then we were watching him ‘shoot on sight’ and thought, he’s going for his highlight reel.

And Ajer as an Inside RB under Ange is another just missed moment, that’d have been insane. Only topped by Van Dijk, Wanyama and Forster just missing the same team for us… and the fact they were clean sheet machines together for Southampton makes that one top of my ‘just missed’ list.

EDIT: Maybe Rivaldo getting offered a trial and we could have had Lubo, Larsson, Rivaldo. Thats top of the list probably

People forget that Christie struggled big time under Rodgers first spell. Basically getting dropped for long periods before going to Aberdeen. He'd pretty much been playing first team football for the 2 years prior to joining us.

Heard he struggled big time with that and the club wasn't exactly supportive. Think that's a major failure of Rodgers, soon as you aren't first pick your invisible. Possibly partly why Hatate is struggling now and why it was good to shrink the squad size. Rodgers squads if too big struggle for this reason.

So I can understand his dad talking him up, and wanting him to move as he wasn't best pleased with the club and management. No one else was and that's pretty much what parents do. Turns out he was right too.

Also, doesn't help Lennon telling you to blast it all the time. Tactical genius :56:
