    HEARTS... 0

    CELTIC... 6
    (Jacynta 9, Craig 24, Flint 33, Gallacher 72 & 74, Loferski 90+2)

Celtic FC Women picked up another impressive victory on the road, defeating Hearts 6-0 on Wednesday evening. First-half goals from Jacynta, Chloe Craig and Tash Flint were followed by a brace from substitute Amy Gallacher and a late strike by Kit Loferski.

As the Celts looked to continue their momentum after an impressive 4-2 weekend win over league leaders Glasgow City, they made an ideal start to proceedings in the capital.

Following a bright opening period, the Ghirls took the lead on nine minutes, with Jacynta opening the scoring.

Unselfish play from Shen Mengyu set up the opportunity for the 21-year-old inside the area and Jacynta made no mistake with her finish into the bottom corner.

And Tash Flint almost grabbed a quick-fire second. The on-loan Leicester City forward pressed the Hearts backline into a mistake before unleashing a shot which was well saved by the goalkeeper.

However, the Hoops didn’t have to wait much longer to double their advantage as Chloe Craig headed home from a corner, making a run to the back post and nodding it past the Hearts keeper.

Although Celtic had made such a positive start to the match, there was unfortunately an injury blow for Fran Alonso’s squad, losing defender Caitlin Hayes through injury on the half-hour mark.

Before the break, there was time for a third Celtic goal, with Flint getting in on the act, scoring her third goal in two appearances.

Some good persistence from Kit Loferski on the left created the opportunity, with the American finding space before laying the ball into the feet of Flint, who smashed the ball home.

With another huge game to come on Sunday afternoon, Fran Alonso was able to make a few changes early in the second half, introducing Amy Gallacher, Shen Menglu and Maria McAneny at half-time.

The Celts weren’t able to make quite as quick a start to the second half as they had the first, and faced a bit of pressure with Hearts looking to get back into the game.

However, any chance of a comeback was soon shut down when Celtic scored a fourth goal with around 20 minutes left to play when Gallacher tucked the ball underneath the Hearts goalkeeper to make it 5-0.

And just minutes later, the forward was at it again, scoring her second of the match with a fantastic long-range effort.

Picking up the ball on the turn, Gallacher swivelled round her marker before unleashing a powerful strike which left the keeper with no chance, with the ball nestling in the back of the net.

With the game heading towards the dying seconds, the Hoops added a sixth and it was a first goal for recent signing, Kit Loferski.

The striker latched on to a brilliantly-weighted through pass from Maria McAneny. Running through one-on-one, the American dispatched the ball into the back of the net with a fantastic finish.

The 6-0 victory in the capital takes Celtic within two points of league leaders Glasgow City, and Fran Alonso's side will go into Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Glasgow City at Hampden Park full of confidence after their performance.

CELTIC: Tajonar, Robertson (Otto 63), Ross (McAneny 46), Craig, Jacynta (Menglu 46), Shen, Clark, Hayes (O’Riordan 30), Loferski, Bowie, Flint (Gallacher 46).
    Subs: Logan, Kerner, Fergusson, Goldie
