Honest Mistakes Thread 2016/17 onwards.

Their goal was a goal for me but he was a disgrace second half. Barely gave us a thing..

Handballs for hitting off the chest or blatant goal kicks off their heads he was giving corners..

 

Their whole game plan was to switch it into our full back channel and fall over for a free kick.

Clancy bought it time and time again.

Didn’t stop me calling him Father Clancy when my hun uncle in law was raging about the officials though

It’s much more fun to feed their delusion.

 

Was a shambles for poor decisions the whole game, about 10 freekicks for nothing, probably about 10 goalkicks/corners and throw-ins given the wrong way.

Multiple blatant shockers as well, near the end Souttar in front of where I sat was pressured and the fat * was blowing out his * at the time and dived and grabbed the ball without contact and he gave him a freekick. I think Souttar was just flapping at that point and happy to concede a freekick as he thought he was about to be done. On TV watching back theres not a good view of it but the commentators mention how Souttar just grabbed it as well.

Clancy was about 40 yards away and gave them a foul lol

 

Watching us play the ten men behind the ball merchants at parkhead I often wonder if goalkeepers can't take the goal kick until the ref has strolled to the halfway line and then raises his hand. See it time and time again. Goalies wasting time all the time. And it's from practically the start of the game. So I couldn't help notice Clancy show incredible urgency when they were chasing the game. Constantly making a point of pointing at his watch every chance he could. Running to Hart to tell him to speed up.

 

CCV getting booked for sliding NEAR Morelos set the tone.

 

I know he had a shocking game, but Mooy was completely mugged off by clancy in the first half, tried to play the ball 3 times and each time clancy was in the way. Every one of the refs and linesmen need to work on their positioning and fitness. The lino in the second half was puffing out his hoop, there was a corner and he literally looked like he was gonna spew.

 

There was zero contact just a theatrical dive. Guessing they have a wee diving session each day to warm down.

 

Again with the lack of self awareness.

They hammer Kyogo for diving yet every time they get the ball in open play, they look for fouls. I'm not against it tbh. Morelos and Goldson are terrific at it. I'm angry at the refs for constantly buying it.

I haven't actually seen Kyogo dive yet. He is literally the most fouled player in the league.

 

Like ive said previously granted I'm a celtic fan but I'm a football fan too, diving, faking, time wasting and 10 men behind the ball, that's not football in any form. Hate it with a passion, if celtic were doing it I'd call it out, in fact it's mainly this why I started to support celtic, the style of football we've had has never encouraged that, yet seems to be rife in Scotland.

I even HATE standing with the ball in the corner for the last 6 minutes, if your no good enough to keep possession for 6 mins you shouldn't be playing at elite level. Watch Haaland and Grelish do it a couple of weeks ago, the pair of the laughing like wee schoolgirls, thought to myself aye you laugh that's really what the punters want to see.

 

Aye, right after cantwell took taylor out on the bye line. Play on.

 

Now that is something that I completely agree with.

Heard one of the commentators say towards the end that Ange was shouting at whoever was taking our corner kick to get it in the box. Instead we passed to Oh who literally kicked it out for a goal kick. We time wasted for 0.3 seconds. Would've wasted more time actually hitting it into the box.

 

I agree if you have the ball in that area any other time you cross it in to try score we had five mins to go should have been going for that extra goal that makes the five mins void any way

We need to devise a way to stop Tillman and Morelos disrupting our distribution from the back for the Cup Semi.

Any suggestions anybody ? I am all ears.

 

I get wound up by how long goalkeepers are allowed to hold onto the ball while the game is still live. Is it 8 seconds they're allowed to keep the ball in? Marshall for Hibs was taking nearly 20 * seconds when he was catching the ball. Does my nut in that it's not punished more. Refs literally let them away with it every time.

 

Tillman and Morelos done absolutely * all. We were just slow and lacked accuracy with our passing. Had we played a tenth better, Morelos and Tillman would have gotten nowhere near us.

 

This weekend has highlighted how many fans don’t actually know the rules. Shoving a player to the ground is always a foul. The ref got it correct for the Morelos chance.

 

Putting your hands on a players back doesn’t automatically make it a shove. The defender will almost always get the benefit of the doubt in that situation however. Makes it even funnier the fact it probably should have stood.

VAR was used correctly though, as it’s not a clear and obvious error. His hands are definitely on his back, so only Johnston knows for certain how much contact was made. Was it enough to put him on the floor, I don’t think it was.

 

Play better than Saturday simples.

 

Ye just know Beaton or Walsh will get the semi.
