SPFL Celtic 3 - 2 The Uglies

Well we did what we needed to do and got the 3 points. It wasn't convincing though. I was hoping we were going to blow them away and put the fear into them before the semi, instead we showed our vulnerability at times and played into their hands by giving them chances from set pieces, which is really the only danger they pose, which will probably give them a bit of confidence instead. I guess I'm just greedy in never wanting us to take our foot off their throat. In a purely footballing sense of course, obviously I'd never condone such a thing in real life...

That's not to say I wouldn't take a poor performance 3-2 win in the semi as well right enough!

 

I think he's scares of them after they complained about him and did it publicly.

 

Huns going on as if they were robbed ffs. To put it into perspective, we were *, we continuously gave it away first half but still went ahead and had more chances. for all the Huns possession at times, for all their efforts closing us down, getting in our faces blah blah blah, they created next to * all. They keep going on about the goal they got chopped off, and rightly so but seem to forget the number of missed chances we had, the number of saves their aging keeper had to make. As poor as we were today we still had enough to get over the line and 3 points.

 

They were both tugging at each other before the corner is taking, but once the ball is in play they stop jostling and when the ball comes over, morales pushes Johnstone in the back. ????? its a * foul... no ifs or buts, its a * foul.

Well that was a pretty average performance and we still won!

Morelos clearly shoves Rug Rat and it’s as clear a foul as you’ll see. I guess we are in for a week of “we were cheated” and “the gap has closed”.

We seriously will need to up our grit and dig for the Semi though. Our passing was woeful and decision making was horrendous too.

What was Bernebei thinking when through on goal? (Just as an example). Some of the slack blind passing at the back would have been punished by a more mobile opponent. I don’t think they had a player on the pitch that really stood out apart from Tavernier’s goals (great free kick), we just made them appear better at times by constantly gifting them possession.
