Doesn’t mean much as he usually just feeds the media * when it comes to things like this. But let’s hope he hasn’t this time.

Agree it doesn’t look good for Hatate being involved.

Be interesting to see what Ange does, play with Iwata and McGregor almost giving Mooy a free role to an extent, or stay more as we are with O’Riley coming in but then having a slow midfield.

If he's out I'd go with Iwata.

Their midfield is slow and lacks energy.

I'd have no problem with that at all. As long as we have the intelligence of Mooy in there we'll be grand.

Am I missing something here? That's clearly Iwata drinking water and Kyogo by the right post

Doesn't sound like he's going to make the game going by McGregors comments.

Hopefully wee bit of mind games

Reo Hatate still has a chance of facing Rangers on Saturday, according to Celtic captain Callum McGregor.

The Japanese star was a big miss from the Hoops midfield as they played Ross County last weekend and has been one of their stories of the season, playing his way into contention for the player of the year awards at the end of the season. Ange Postecoglou said last week that he hoped to have the 25-year-old back for the derby

The captain has now explained that Hatateremains "touch and go." McGregor admits that this fixture is one that can often see players ploughing on through the pain barrier and letting adrenaline get them through - but insists they have the squad to cope if Hatate doesn't make it.

Maybe," he said when asked about his teammate's chances. "He’s been touch and go all week.

“The fixture is a bit different and sometimes you can get through the pain barrier if you can. But if there’s an issue you don’t want to be taking crazy risks, as there’s a good bit of the season to go as well. You have to find the balance.

“You get the adrenaline in these big games of consequence. You feel on top of the world and it’s only after the game you start to think ‘oh that’s sore’.

If he is touch and go from being able to start no reason he can’t be on the bench and if we need him use him if not he doesn’t get on.
