The letter g. Not that one, the one you see in newspapers and magazines, two circles one above the other with a joining line and wee tick coming off the top of the upper circle. The *'s that all about?

 

This has never annoyed so much until you’ve pointed it out

I'm sure it's roman/italian from the 16th century and was then used in print only to distinguish between g and the number 9 or some * like that. was taught this at school, but as that was many moons ago my memory may be a bit vague.

Phone footage is blurry, shakes and the sound is crap and they pick up the noise of the fuds round about them! (More of that later)

I’ve done it momentarily twice in my entire gig going life. Ian McCulloch at a tiny theatre in Henley - 50 folks there tops! Doing an acoustic Killing Moon - just so I had it and Bunnymen Usher Hall doing an orchestral Cutter just to save the solo.

I felt like a * at the time and still do - the Usher hall footage is pish as all you can hear is me * singing!!!!

The Kennington Theatre Killing Moon is much better, but these utter trumpets who stand for the whole gig annoy the life out of me. I shout * and various other profanities to make sure their video is *.

The should be bounced right out the door and neutered on the way.

 

Best way is to sing really badly as loud as * behind them, giving them a love tap every so often or just keep repeating look at this * wi the phone!!!!! Hahaha

Was in the Hydro last night and it was a phone free zone with every * needing to put them into a sealed wallet thing, it was brilliant and should be done at every show.
