Brilliant today. You can tell he brings so much to the team.

 

Awesome save that and overall, distribution was good, well done Joe.

 

Can we talk about how that's not a foul too? Like its the same as the penalty shout at the other end. Sure the ball is already played away/out but he's fouled after it.

Our refs are so * it's unreal.

 

I know he's got issues with distribution, but I think Ange should have some Hart and modify our playing style so we don't have to change a keeper so soon. Joe loves Celtic.

 

We won comfortably in the end, but that save was an extremely important one and can be easily overlooked due to the result in the end. If that goes in, they get a huge lift and the fans get right up for it. Could be a totally different game. Loved when he got up and was roaring in Clancy’s face asking how it wasn’t a foul. He has been a great signing for us.

 

If he plays every match this season his 99th match will be against Huns in SC SF and his 100th match will be 1st league match after the split.

 

As someone said in the match thread he may as well go sit in the crowd when a team gets a pen vs us. Could be wrong but pretty sure the only one he has ever saved for us was vs hearts and he didnt even save it Boyce hit the post.

 

Aye it’s a bit ridiculous how poor he is at pens. Feel like he very rarely even goes the right way, never mind save it.

 

Gordon was the same. That was a miss in Israel also haha and no save..

 

He seems to shrink when facing a pen in the same way Barkas did any time the baw entered our half.

 

Didn't have much to do in the way of making saves but thought he actually had a good game. Quicker releasing the ball and read the balls over the top well.

 

Same. Had some decent involvements coming out and redistributing it where you wouldn't expect a keeper to be involved.

 

I find it so hard to criticise goalkeepers during penalty kicks because they're at such a disadvantage. But you would think a keeper with his frame, presence, experience, and sheer authority he would be able to make more of an impact with them.

Actually does well to make himself look big in the build-up, but always has this knack of just jumping out the way of the ball entirely haha. Definitely frustrating at times, but again it's difficult to go in too hard on him for penalties.

 

It's kinda a but of a myth, aye Forster was brilliant at them. But then again, 1 more save that Joe from a pk?

He's saved pks from Messi, Ronaldinho, Zlatan, Rooney, lol.

It's just a stat really.

To slag a goalie off about pks is pretty mad tbh.

All well and good saying he’s saved penalties from this player and that player - Ronaldinho retired 8 years ago. How many penalties has he saved in the recent past?

Agree with @celtic20 that it’s maybe weird to criticise a keeper for not saving penalties, but it’s a skill. Obviously they’re weighted in favour of the attacker. But when you just know your keeper isn’t going to save one…it’s pretty poor.

 

A Celtic goalkeeper should always look like he can save a penalty. The trouble with Hart, is that you know he won't.
That is a major failing in his locker.
