  4. Did this last night. Longest so far Screenshot_20230407-204852_Strava.jpg and feeling it today but pleased I managed it.

  5. I don't even travel that far in my car these days M8. Well done and I just wish I had the legs and stamina to achieve that sort of thing.

  6. I got some from B&M a few months back because of the price but I was farting like * and absolutely honking along with it so I've just went back to Protein Works for mine now. It's a bit more expensive but works out ok if you buy the bigger bags

  7. Anyone aware of any running tracks around the eastend of Glasgow? I know there's the Glasgow club one at Calton but wondering if there's any other local ones around that can get on without being a member, have Googled but can't really see anything. Used to use the one at Maryhill park but living over this way now and would be good to find something similar.

  8. What about crown point mate? Can you just run round that.

  9. That's the one I was meaning near Calton aye, I'm not sure what the craic is with that as it's a Glasgow club, not sure if you'd need to pay to use it. I don't really want to join Glasgow club as I'd only be interested in the running track right now, not really worth the membership fee. Thinking more along the lines of a public one like the one at Maryhill Park but not sure if there are any over this way.

  10. I don't know if you're near springboig mate but there's a place to run in budhill park where Glasgow girls play football. It used to be a running track but it's pretty unkept now. Tollcross park is good for running in but not a track.

  11. I've actually walked by that a few times, but just having a quick look at Google images think that might just be the the trick mate, cheers! Prob less than a 15 mins walk.

I don't mind going running about the streets but been looking for a track or a set loop at least, as I've found that's best for me when doing this kind of stuff, and trying to improve etc.

  14. Thought I would share an insight into my weight loss and weight lifting journey.
I started back in January properly.
I had always been at the gym through my life and did a lot of power lifting when young So I was lucky to have good muscle memory.

I'm counting macros, eating clean, 5 meals a day. Loads of vegetables and protein. Shakes bars ect to top up protein.

When I started I was so tired and sore.
After finding a good routine for me, I'm on a 4 day PUHL split, progressive overload.
As a result I have dropped, 52 pounds, gained a few inches on my back, chest, arms and quads in particular.
My body composition has changed dramatically and I can now also run a mile in 9 Minutes (I hate cardio) I have 20 pounds to cut but I'm also building strength and some size at the same time which is tricky but doable.
I'm lucky as I said, good muscle memory and I was always carrying decent muscle mass but am stripping fat back.

Big compounds are my favourite exercise
    Squats 145kg
    Rdl 185kg
    Bench 115kg

Set goals and go get it!

  15. 9.5 weeks since I broke my ankle and I'm seriously buzzing with this. Awkward as * and still pain/stiffness so had to be really careful but hopefully no adverse reaction and can carry on building it up.

  16. I’m travelling at the moment so just been trying to keep myself ticking over using hotel gyms.

I’ve always really enjoyed running but I don’t know how people do it on a treadmill regularly, it’s mind numbing. I’d happily go out and do a 10k at home but I find even 3k here on a treadmill torture.

Managed 2x 1k jogs while out my walk on Friday then this today.
    4x400m, 1 lap walking then 3x400m, 1 lap walk.
Walked each way to the park where the track is which was about 45mins/1 hour each way and ended up on about 17k steps around midday.
Wanted to do 10 laps total but could feel it was tight and stiff and didn't want to overdo it.
Hoping to get the all clear to go back to work when I see physio on Friday so didn't want to aggravate it.
Hopefully no ill effects after today. Screenshot_20230702-113917_Strava.jpg

  17. Same, I find it absolutely brutal. Is there no way you can get for an outdoor run?

  18. I've no used a gym treadmill in ages. Used fo find it boring as well watching a running screen on the telly infront of you or that..

Done my first 10k with ease the other day in months. 46 minutes. Done another 6 yesterday..

Just been doing 5, 6 7's each time as don't wanna trim too much as been doing workouts most days as well..

Does feel good banging out a longer one though. Especially when you can change your routes etc it's class with the tunes pumping..
