He is sustaining a level of performance that is remarkable. He is such a steady, solid performer.

If we do sell him i hope we sell him with a sell on clause because he could go to the top.

Going to keep losing players due to this. Remember Van Dijk not getting called up when he was here. International management is a riot.

Their coach mentioned agreements in place with clubs for players who were carrying knocks and injuries and making sure they were ready for the summer. I do wonder if he has been carrying a slight knock this season perhaps he has as Ange has said "pulled up sore" after some games. Seems a bit a odd for him to get dropped after doing well at the WC for them

Getting a tad worrying that players are being overlooked possibly cos eh the league. Really hope this doesn't change their minds about wanting to stay beyond the summer.

In which case the only hope for them/us is to have a decent enough run in Europe.
(I admit - I may have overlooked their personal ambitions)

Which makes sense, they are playing Grenada and El Salvador. They only need second to get to the gold Cup.

What made it even worse was that he got a call up before kicking a ball for Southampton.

Sure it was that hun * De Boer in charge.

Cameron Carter-Vickers might have pulled out of American contention due to an injury at Celtic according to one former US international - but another isn't having it.

The defender has been a colossus for Ange Postecoglou and scored the winner in their 3-0 Scottish Cup quarter-final win over Hearts last Saturday. He went with his country to Qatar for the World Cup last year and impressed when on the pitch, so it was a surprise to many across the water that he hasn't been selected for duty this month against Grenada and El Salvador.

But popular former international Jimmy Conrad reckons it could be down to Carter-Vickers pulling up injured, asking fellow US hero Charlie Davies 'Do you think he turned it down? Maybe he is hurt?' Davies can't believe the centre-back isn't involved but does not buy into the theory presented by Conrad, adding: "The glaring omission for me is Carter-Vickers

His manager came out after the last performance and said he's the best performer at Celtic and in the league. Why would you turn it down?

I don't think he turns it down, I think it's 'I am legit injured, I picked up a knock in training, some sort of muscular problem

You would have to think it is that CCV has some king of knock plus the 2 US games are a joke anyway so they can easily do without him. In addition the US don't really have a proper head coach after the fiasco post World cup finals when Berhalter was not offered a new contract because mommy and daddy Reyna cried foul to US soccer people because their little boy Gio Reyna wasn't playing much.

I have no idea how Gio Reyna can turn up to the USA squad with any kind of dignity

USA boss Anthony Hudson has explained why he didn't call up Cameron Carter-Vickers to his squad for the upcoming international break.

The defender was missing from the national squad announcement for their double header against Grenada and El Salvador, despite impressing for his country at the World Cup in Qatar.

Hudson was appointed head coach of the national team in January on an interim basis after Gregg Berhalter's contract expired.

Carter-Vickers would have hoped to be involved in the manager's first squad since taking over as head coach but he has been left back in Glasgow due to an injury.

The US international side roster update put the absence of the centre-back down to a "knee" injury, sparking concerns over his availability for Celtic's upcoming clash with Hibs this weekend.

The 25-year-old has been a main stay for Ange Postecoglou's side this season, and he would be a huge loss for the Hoops if he is ruled out for any fixtures.

But USA boss Hudson has clarified that he hasn't suffered any major knocks and insists the reason why some players were not called up was down to precaution.

Speaking after the squad was announced, Hudson said: "There are a number of guys who are dealing with varying degrees of injury issues.

"We’ve spoken with the clubs, and in each case we have worked together to make a decision in the best interest of the player and to do our best to ensure they are available for us this summe

Hope he just needs to rest it.

Can't be having Starfelt and CCV being injured/carrying knocks for too long.

Looks like he's managing his injury like Taylor and 2 week rest could be massive for both club and country in both the run in and not breaking down for summer games

Well we've got the depth to allow him to rest for a game or two at the very least.
