Think arsenal and Berlin are probably more focused on their leagues. But aye...who cares. Mon the sporting

We really should have done better in the last 4 or 5 years in Europe. Totally underachieved too many times.

Look at Leipzig getting embarrassed by City, then you have Shakhtar embarrassed by Feyenoord. Last year it was the same with Bodo Glimt - who were hailed as a fantastic team when in reality they were bang average; their form since has shown that.

Think it also has to do that Union Berlin are a very defensive focused side and struggle every time they have to make the game. Union Saint-Gilloise is used to that and it showed tonight. They knew they can let Berlin have the ball because they aren't very good attacking if it's not counter play. Been impressed with Saint-Gilloise I have to say. Well run club. Was furious at them when they allowed the huns to get pass them in the CL qualifiers, but looking back now, I know the just wanted the huns to get the record as the worst ever CL side, so thank you Union Saint-Gilloise! :giggle1:

Is that the bestest team from the bestest league in the world been knocked out of Europe by the 4th best team in Portugal?

    * strange how this keeps happening man. Surely there’s more to it?

Then, if Man U win, who will win the "additional Champions League place" next season?. I thought it might be 5th English Premier League club, but it seems I was wrong. Then who?. The club who is defeated by Manchester United at the final of Europa League will get the place to play in Champions League?

Aye there's no excuse when you look at the types of club having real success in Europe. I do feel we're on the tight trajectory though. Feyenoord have a brilliant manager, and Union St Galloise have been doing things the right way for a good while. It's no surprise these clubs are now showing it in Europe, and I think we'll join them in making a mark on Europe over the next few years, so long as Ange stays.

Go down the coefficient table will go to a nations club who are borderline between the qualifiers and automatic qualification

Only one team left in the conference league is higher than 5th in their league this year, despite having a polish, a Swiss and two Belgian sides, and the favourites could still be relegated

It really does depend on how seriously teams take that, last year you had Feyenoord vs Roma in the final, a bigger final than the Europa league. There is no CL spot and that's the issue really.

watched the highlights of Man United, the first own goal would be classed as a worldy if you'd put that in the right net considering the angle, the second Maguire headers it past his own keeper. Absolutely hilarious stuff.

Probably a factor, but have teams not been taking it seriously? Not saying you're wrong but west ham, Fiorientina and Nice, teams from big 5 leagues, seem to be going all out

Equally considering Lech Poznan, basel and Anderlecht would be considered title challengers, I wonder if they have prioritised a chance at European glory at the expense of their domestic form

I'm actually really interested to see how it pans out, would be great to see a team like basel or Anderlecht win a European trophy

Fiorentina, Nice, Anderlecht and Basel are mid table teams. Poznan are 15 points off top. This is the pinnacle for them I think. Villareal were in it, they seemed to try for 4th ahead of this. Last season Spurs pretty much ignored it, Union Berlin too. Some bigger teams such as Leicester, Roma, Feyenoord and Marseille took it seriously and made up the semis. I think if a team has a shot a CL by February this becomes secondary sadly

Next season is probably our last chance at winning the Europa league for a while. After next season there is no dropping down from the champions league to Europa league. Let’s hope we can finish 3rd next season. The final of the EL is in Dublin. :35:
