Just watched 2001 A Space Odyssey, had never got round to it. Quite enjoyed it, although not sure I really get what the ending is about.

The special effects in that film are phenomenal for the time it was made. Hence the conspiracy of Stanley Kubrik helping to film a fake moon landing. Then people said his film "The Shining" was him admitting it

I actually didn't know it was a Stanley Kubrick film until it was about 15 mins in and I thought this has thoughts of A Clockwork Orange. I watch loads of films but just didn't get round to this. Even the music. I can now attribute the music to something aside from The Simpsons or old hardcore samples lol

It's genuinely the first film I've shed a tear too in years.

@Celtic_Daft1888 Another massive drop for Antman 3, down another 62% and the bleeding hasn't stopped yet - totalling US$419m global. I seriously doubt it will even get to match Antman 1 at $519m global, nevermind taka a miracle to reach the $622m global tnat Antman 2 did, which you mentioned was the benchmark they were relying on.

Sorry mate, just getting round to this now. My daughter was born last week so the nights have been tiring!

I only caught up with everything on Monday. I usually catch up with it all on Sunday night. Creed III had a huge opening of $59m. Biggest opening of the Rocky Franchise ever. With Scream 6 and 65, which I’m going to see this week, I’ll be surprised if Antman remains in the top 3. Massively disappointing for Marvel.

First off, that's awesome news and congrats mate! Hope both mother and child are doing well and yes, I know what it's like, long time ago, a LOT of sleepless night's ahead for you, lol. On the movies side of things, Creed III not just the biggest opening in the Rocky franchise, but biggest opening for any sport movie ever! And no, I;ve not caught it yet either, but will soon enough.

    The Whale.

Thought it was overrated as * to be honest.

He was great in it as was the rest of the cast, but i thought the actual story was boring as *.

    Acting 10/10
    Story 5/10

@Taz another huge drop for Ant Man. Didn't even finish in the top 3 this week! Incredibly disappointing for Marvel and Disney. Excellent week for Scream 6 and a decent enough hold for Creed III. Also, a decent sized win for '65'... $13m in it's opening weekend. I went to see it and thought it was pretty good.

Additional mentions to Avatar 2 and Puss in Boots.... they seem to continue to rolling out a decent little chunk of change every week. Avatar made another $3m and Puss in Boots another $1.5m.... Hollywood looks as if it's starting to get closer to pre pandemic levels.

Antman 3 has a serious uphill battle to reach what the first one did, nevermind the second. Puss has continued to hold well, even though it's available to stream from home - and has been for a while now, especially in the Nth America market, but is still getting families the theatre is most impressive. It's actually a pretty good movie which definitely helps.

I've not been to the cinema in the past week or so (if weather isn't too bad will be tomorrow), so there are a few need to catch up with, incl 65, Creed III, Scream VI & Champions. Probably be the last chance I get for a month or so. :/

Thought Creed III was disappointing. I love this type of movie normally but even I’m getting tired of the same formula.
Absolutely no new ideas in this.
