Celtic Player Stats

Does anyone have a record list of assists for Celtic? I know assists can be incredibly misleading, and chances created would be more valuable. But since Forrest got to 100 assists, I'd be interested to know who has more or slightly less than him.

The people who tweet the 3rd person to get 100 assists etc I think are guys just guessing and probably aren't accurate.

Like they say Larsson, Johnstone and Forrest are the only 3 to get 100 assists, i'd say no chance is that true. Lennox and Dalglish i'd bet did also and probably a couple of other players just nobody really knows.

Kenny Dalglish even if you just look at the Cup semis, finals and hun games he played in probably has about 20+ assists never mind the League against everyone else or European games. Theres that one Hibs game at Hampden he assisted 4 in one game for example. Dalglish played more games for us than Larsson and was more of a playmaker and less of a goalscorer, if Anthony Stokes got about 70 assists in about 190 games for us and Lubo got 50 in 135 games, Dalglish probably got at least 120 assists in his 320 games.

 

I'm actually amazed that so many people took it as fact. As you say, Dalglish is an obvious one that almost certainly had over 100 assists.

I'd also say Bobby Murdoch, Bobby Lennox, Stevie Chalmers must have as well. Bobby Murdoch was a midfielder, so you've got to assume he laid off a high number of goals in that Lisbon Lions team. Also, you don't score over 200 goals and not rack up a large amount of assists. Jimmy Johnstone didn't do it all himself.

I don't know enough about the other guys in the century club, but surely Jimmy McGrory wasn't just refusing to pass in front of goal as well.

You'd think there would be people at Celtic that could go through the archives and at least give a rough idea of assists. I know it can be a misleading stat in a lot of ways, but it's still interesting.

Giakoumakis, Abada, Forrest, Haksabanovic, Turnbull and Ralston all with good numbers without playing much.

33 goals and 23 assists between them even though they've only started 56 games between them.

Aye those stats are mindboggling. Didn't realise he was posting numbers that good.

Could easily end up with 25 before the end of the season, which for a centre mid would be ridiculous.

 

Turnbull got 2 assists against hibs so he should be at 7
