I think he'd get a regular game for Newcastle. Outwith the "Top 6" I think a team like Leicester/West Ham is his ceiling if he wants regular game time.

Saying that he could probably do a job for someone like Tottenham. Maybe even Chelsea at a push. But again I doubt he'd be a regular starter there.

What people don't realise with Tierney is that he isn't getting a game for Arsenal because he doesn't really suit the inverted fullback role, whereas Zinchenko is probably the best suited player in the world for it.

Zinchenko is levels above Tierney technically, which there is no shame in. For me Tierney's technique has always been a little bit awkward looking, and it stands out a lot more down south compared to when he was up here. If Arsenal played traditionally with overlapping fullbacks he'd probably be the first choice though.

I think he still gets a good team, he could definitely get game time for top Italian, German or Spanish sides.
A good chance he wins a Premier league medal and Arsenal are also contenders for Europa league.

Bring him home. Would love to even be put the feelers out or for Ange to have a conversation with him about possibly coming back when his contracts up. Seen he’s considering his future as he’s not going to be seeing as much minutes with zinchenko on the form he’s on. Also seen a possible move to Newcastle for 30m which would be a good move for him.

I know it’s highly unlikely btw before anyone says it :84: would be just class to have him back and I think with the right deal he would come back before he’s 30…. Still only 25 now

I don't think the problem would be convincing him to come back, there were rumours he was homesick & missed Scotland, but he has three years left on his contract, and we can't afford the £20m+ it'll cost to buy him, or probably his wages (even if he lowered his demands).

Let's be brutally honest as well, we are going to pay someone £25k a week to be back up to Greg Taylor....

He would be equal to Taylor if he came. Physically stronger, faster, but unable to fully claim the LB spot for an extended run of games due to his injury proneness.

I'm unsure if you're being sarcastic or genuinely believe this, but KT would be a significant upgrade on Taylor, when fit. Taylor has been great this season, but he lacks the athleticism to take us to the next level IMO.

Greg's good. He's not Tierney good.

However we're not getting him. Plus he's made of glass lately.

He'd be a mild upgrade, because Taylor's football intelligence and defensive tenacity are Champions League level. He works hard to compensate for his flaws. Yes, a healthy Tierney could offer more athleticism. But a healthy Tierney is not one who plays 5 games in a row as the starting LB. Taylor would need to play to let Tierney's body rest every few games.

I don't believe we would pay what Arsenal want, even if they are looking to get shot of Tierney, as much as he would be good to have, as competition at LB and a homegrown player for the quota.

If he goes Newcastle he'd be great for them.

I think GT suits the ange style of play more than KT does, despite the fact I think KT is a better player overall.

I would agree, but think KT has the skills to fit the role if given a little time. He's tried to adapt into it at Arsenal and has done fine in most games, but obviously Zinchenko is a better fit for it overall. Got to remember it took Taylor a while to take to the role, and Tierney is a much better player overall.

Tierney is a massive upgrade on Taylor no matter what the style of play is.

I thought there was only maybe a year left but yeah deffo can’t compete with premier league prices. I think if he was to ever come back he’d take a huge wage cut for it… him and maeda on the left would be mental

Don’t agree with that at all, I like Taylor now and I know we’re not getting tierney but tierney is far better there’s no denying it. Kieran tierney is a champions league level player. Proves how good he was for us in Europe in big games time and time again and is highly thought of at arsenal but obviously bad luck with injuries and then zinchenko which is top 3 left backs in the league being there too. I do think Taylor has got a lot better but for me tierney is significantly better all round

It's not just about ability- I truly think frequent rotation would be necessary if Tierney somehow came.

Someone told me that if Arsenal win the league, we get a £5m bonus as part of the original deal?

Highly doubt it’s close to that figure. If it’s actually in the contact it’ll be closer to 10% of that I’d imagine.
