And it's all completely pointless too, we'll set up our team and play our game the way we always do, we're not going to chop and change anything based on who they have available in an attempt to 'contain' them or anything daft like that.

Yeah all this "Mind games" that Beale the messiah gets hailed as a genius for actually make the huns look even more ridiculous and clueless. We wouldn´t change the way we play even if we played prime Real Madrid. Even * Joey Barton would know this for * sake :56:

Looking back at the last game against them we were terrible. Can't afford to play like that again, or the cup won't be coming home.

They are not a great team but nullified us in the previous game. 2 attempts on target says it all. I hope Ange does something to counter their obvious tactics of stifling McGregor and pressing Starfelt. Everyone needs to have top performances, no passengers like last time. We need to be ruthless and take our chances. Blitz them away like we did in the 3-0 and 4-0 games.

Agree we were poor but there was obvious mitigating reasons for it, the squad was ravaged with some sort of illness/covid and guys were clearly nowhere near fit. The fact Forrest started shows how badly some were struggling.

We also lost Taylor early who is one of our most important players.

Agree we need to be better however I wouldn’t look too much into that game.

Genuinely the main concern against them.

This game reminds me of why we are right to be wary of the refs. And that highlights video doesn't even show Ralston's goal being wrongly chopped off.

I am glad somebody else has had the balls to say like me we were garbage at Ibrox. Because it is the truth, they were all over us in the second half, pasted our goal, and hit the woodwork twice I think, if they had scored a third it would have been curtains for us.

There is no downsides in analysing our opponents key strengths and weaknesses, other teams do it too, and it should be openly discussed in forums, otherwise it would be like completing a jigsaw with some key pieces missing.

We need to learn from that no show at Ibrox, and do a lot better at Hampden if we are going to win.
And the fact they have added two new midfielders since then, makes it even more important to examine how they are now conducting their business in midfield.

It's called doing our homework :giggle1:

Their new signings look average tbh don't worry me in the slightest. Are any of them at the level of Hatate or Mcgregor? No. As long as we're not sloppy at the back and Starfelt and Hart don't have any brain farts we'll be fine.

They don't need to be at their level in these derby games, just nullify them by strength and numbers.
They have succeeded in nullifying McGregor in the last two games with them.

Talking about McGregor, he rarely shows up against the Huns, a bit like Forrest.

Raskin looks a good player for them, plays with the head up and directs the traffic, I actually suggested on this forum we should have tried for Raskin, I think @Hammy did too, and Cantwell has some pedigree too, it would be wrong to underestimate them in such a crucial game.

I take your point on Starfelt and Hart, they have it in them. Maybe Kobayashi is the better bet to partner CCV ?.

We were poor in that game, but still should have been at least 2 goals to the good, probably more by the time Joe Hart had his calamity around the 35th minute.

Kyogo’s fresh air swipe from the cut back in the box and we had so many times that we just by passed their central block by going to Hatate and/or O’Riley, the problem was our final ball at that point. Hatate had the most obvious one to simply slip Maeda in again for a 1v1 but unusually took too long.

We then had Taylor go off and Juranovic put in one of the worst professional footballing performances I have seen for the remainder of the game.

I am not one that is overly confident going in to this game but I do expect us to play better than that last performances, noting all the mitigating circumstances.

Their tactics aren’t anything special and it infuriated me when they played that way before and we struggled to get the better of it. Normally when that is the case the main issue is how wasteful we are in the final third when we do bypass their press, at Ibrox when we won 2-1 last year, the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park and the Scottish semi were all glaring examples of that.

Forrest won't start because he's 5th choice, he only played last time because nobody else was fit enough.
