What's a snout, in this context?

 

Unusual use, but he’s trying to say he’s got someone in the know, sniffing out information.

 

Assumed it would be that but wanted to check.

 

I'd be massively disappointed but not hugely surprised if he does leave in the summer. Just enjoying the football we're watching week in/week out while we have it. We should all be long enough in the tooth to know how football works these days.

Still, if I were betting on it I'd say he'll stay for at least one more crack at the Champions League. If he did leave in the summer I think he and us would have a feeling of unfinished business, given how Europe went this year.

I find it strange.

The majority of clubs who want him are more likely going to be fighting relegation. He’s not going to go to a championship club. At the start of next season, there will be clubs who stay up and there will be clubs who come up from the championship. The clubs who stay up aren’t going to change manager when they’ve managed to keep them up. If Leeds get this Spanish manager, they’ll give him a significant deal.

I’ve said before, my bigger worry is he goes abroad. Someone in the Bundesliga or a big team in France. To get a job in the Premier League, he’s more than likely going to have to leave mid season and I can’t see him doing that.

They are absolutely desperate for him to leave. Which is funny, considering Beale has him on toast and we are running scared etc ...

But...

You don't put on such a heavy recruitment strategy if you plan to be out the door in 3 months time.
Surely he's been preparing for a real crack at the CL?

I'd be * destroyed if he left here in the summer.
ANYBODY we bring in may well get results and trophies, but our football will never be the same. Managers like him are usually tied up elsewhere on bigger salaries at better leagues.

Hopefully someone, anyone comes out and rubbishes this *.

Lol! There it is right there. Some random talk on a Leeds board is this guy’s source. As if Ange has said call me if you stay up. As if Leeds would accept that as any answer. What a load of tosh dreamed up on the eve of the League Cup final.

 

I think this time next year we will be forward thinking to a new manager, it will be his last season next year one crack at CL and a decent job in Europe will give him better offers. Only so many times you can hammer teams in the SPL until the whole project gets boring.

Only thing is it's likely he will take away some of our top players in the process, Hatate, Kyogo etc.

 

I like Postecoglou and I want him to keep working for Celtic for long. At the same time, I understand good footballers and managers want to move to the very top European leagues (EPL, La Liga and Bundesliga). The important thing is, the club is always preparing for the replacements. I've been watching Brighton's games for Japanese winger Mitoma. Chelsea bought Brighton's manager Potter, but Brighton was preparing an even better manager RDZ (Roberto De Zerbi). Arsenal bought brighton's best attacking player who were playing as left winger but Mitoma has been playing better in the position. I want Postecoglou and Hatate to stay at Celtic for another season (2023 - 2024 season) too. However, I think Celtic will lose one or both of them before 2025 unfortunately.
