Reo Hatate

Doesn't get brought up much but he puts in a proper graft on the pitch aswell. Came a long way from last season where doing that would leave him totally burst after 45-60 minutes.

 

He’ll be world class in a couple of years. * amazing performance today.

 

I still think Calmac is our best player but if Hatates form post world cup continues then it's hard to argue against him having that title. Dont expect doubles every week but he's went up a level

 

Plays like he has the ball on a string, unreal to watch.

Unreal performance by Reo! I think for next season’s Champions League it’ll come down to him and Mooy for the 3rd(advanced midfield position) when we have a double pivot of Cal and Iwata. Until he’* this goal scoring run, I thought Mooy was edging him, but it’s going to be a tough decision now. It’ll come down to how well Reo can hold the ball and minimise loose passes.

Today, he took up the positions that Mooy was getting into and got rewarded with the goals. He is immense, amazing player with a work ethic that matches his ambition. He has no ceiling at this point, could go to the top of the game.

 

Has to be Hatate for me. Mooy is excellent but his mobility against top opposition worries me a little, whereas Hatate has some engine on him. Mooy as a super-sub, still think if setup correctly he could be really effective.

 

I tend to agree with you except when Reo is in a funk and giving the ball away carelessly. You don’t need to chase if you are holding onto the ball and that’s Mooy’s strength. Great problem and solutions to have.

 

Continue this trajectory and he can play for any club in the world.

I love Cal but come on. Reo is in another level. We are lucky to have him.

 

His trajectory this season has been amazing to watch. He was always technically gifted but as the season has progressed he realised he has to add steel to his game due to the cloggers in the league. Now he won't just embarrass you with his skill he will rip the jaw aff ye if you get too close.

What a player.

Think you underestimate just how good Calmac is, he’s the highest level for us.
