It's good that he sees callum as a role model because lets face it Callum is the best in his position in Scotland and is the heart beat of our team, if he can add some of the things callum has in his game he'll be an even better player.

be good to see Iwata play deep and callum playing further up, and most players have off days so we have a good options all around the team just now

 

Even in the brief gametime he's had, you can see he's a immediate improvement on Ideguchi.

 

I like him a lot..

Quick to release the ball. Lot of first time passes and positive and crisp as well..

 

Not at full flow yet but he's getting there. Can see him dictating the tempo a bit.

 

There’s going to be an injury or suspension and he will get his chance.

 

Not just because they are both Japanese but I see Hatate and Iwata forming a good relationship in midfield.

For me they have some similarities in the way they work possession and getting quick passes away.

In time, if we can combine those skills of Iwata and Hatate along with our captain in McGregor being the all rounder - there would be so much dynamism, urgency, vision and overall technical ability that domestically would be even more deadly then it is now.

There is a lot to be excited about right now

 

Very tidy on the ball today. Didn't waste it once from what I remember

 

He ALWAYS wants the ball

 

Thought he looked really good today. The way he was constantly checking over his shoulder and finding space to receive the ball reminded me of CalMac. He did have one poor pass though that put Hatate in trouble and he lost the ball.

 

Surprised we threw him on in that game but one nervy pass aside i thought he was decent.

 

That 2-1 lead was made for him to come on in and solidify our defensive structure. Excellent in his first true test.

 

Thought he was superb, constantly won the ball back in key areas and bar one bad pass he kept in moving quick. Very impressed and what we’ve been missing at times in the middle.

 

Very powerful on the ball. Looks like he could shrug guys aside no problem.

 

Game swung back to us when he and Oh came on. Hatate was tiring and he came in and really made us solid again.

 

I REALLY like the look of this guy in the short time I've seen him. Anticipation and his general movement seem bang on especially for the DM role.

 

Came on and did exactly the job the manager wanted him to do. Delighted.

 

I reckon he will be our best (most valuable) player in 12 months time; you heard it here first!

 

Wasn't fazed in the slightest..
