    In general, no.
But in this particular case. Maybe.

It was an interesting comment that Ange came away with the other day

" Michael has had his phone turned off from me for the last two days ". No smoke without fire.

That’s the first I’ve seen that quote that, was it said * of asking me journalists sorta way or did it sound like making a point?

Hard to say really. But they say many a true word is said in jest.
But the fact GG is still here.....

To describe that theory a paper thin would be generous. Ever thought of becoming a football journalist?

Both options that are open to him and Celtic today are open tomorrow and for quite a while.

It was said in jest to the reporter asking questions about our business which he clearly wasn’t comfortable with. If that poster heard it he’d have known that too, was blatantly obvious :giggle1:

It’s better for GG to leave now. Gives him a wee break before the MLS season starts, then he joins the team from the start of the season, with a full preseason.

If he was to stay until the summer, he comes in late and is on the back foot from the start. He did similar here, turned up overweight, got himself injured as a result, took him a good 3-4 months to get up and running.

This is best to get it done ASAP.

Quotes are always dangerous, giving the benefit of the doubt, reading it rather than seeing it said will always be different.

I love that Ange has made the way he deals with them known enough, seeing it for me made me think automatically he’s taking the pish out incessant * questions.

Only slight doubt was it never started “Mate,…”

But the season does start this month so I'd imagine the team wants him training with his new team mates straight away.

I agree. Some of the questions have already been answered, and you can see he gets exasperated at times. Some of the questions are primary school level. Ange needs to cut down the exposure time because he seems obliged at times to give long-winded answers to take up the designated time. You don't see it go as long in other leagues. He should insist on 15 minutes of questions and then its a wrap. ' I have already answered that mate', would also be a good response.

Dutch club VVV Venlo admit they are desperate for Giorgos Giakoumakis to seal his big money exit from Celtic - so they can land a bumper windfall.

The Greek striker looks set to move to the MLS with Atlanta United, instead of a switch to Japan with Urawa Red Diamonds. But the American transfer window still has 12 weeks to run.

VVV would be due a 15 per cent sell-on if and when he leaves Celtic, with the fee reported to be around £4.3 million, which would hand them a huge bonus, after selling him 18 months ago.

And the club's general manager Marco Bogers revealed: "It will take a long time before there is clarity. I've seen so many clubs be mentioned this month and still, nothing is known for certain. Everything is just gossip.

"It's history repeating itself when he left us because there were also a lot of rumours about interest in him flying about.

"Giorgos is quite a thinker. He is very careful in making a choice. Given his age, I expect that the financial aspect will play an important role.

If he went to Urawa Red Diamonds, he would become a teammate of our former player, Bryan Linssen. I have been in contact with Bryan, who told me that Giorgos was seriously considered there, but apparently, he has now made a different choice, although I say that carefully, because as far as I know, nothing is final yet.

"We were always confident he would get a nice follow-on transfer from Celtic. That is why we considered the resale percentage to be very important.

"We had hoped that he would make a step to the Premier League. That tradition is there, with Celtic players. Recently another Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard, went to Crystal Palace for £17 million. In the Premier League, such amounts are easily paid.

"We hoped that Giakoumakis would also get a big transfer. It is also quite strange that English clubs have not yet come. He has great stats.

When he plays, he scores. He proved that in Venlo and then in Glasgow. Also in the Champions League, also for the Greek national team.

"When he does complete his transfer, we still owe part of the money to his former club AEK Athens and to his agent. But it will be money that we have not budgeted for and that we have not taken into account for this season. This extra income is always nice for a club like VVV."

You're really going out of your way if you're finding genuine negativity in that, as if our CEO would actually refuse taking calls from the manager ffs, it was an obvious pisstake response.

I'm sure he knows this could be his last big move and he does have a young family to support, so I suspect it might have been a case of him dragging his heels and waiting to see if any European offers came in for him. Whilst knowing that both Japanese and US clubs can still sign players after yesterday's deadline.

Not yet no. So with the European window closed now it looks like its down to Atlanta or Urawa as their windows are open for a good while yet.
Have to imagine given all the noise around him going or not that Giako will not be in the squad tonight.

Aye right. We don't need him for the hun games or to win the league.

It's delayed because the eejit tried to play hardball with us, it backfired and now he is stuck having to pick between the best of two bad options and he has burned his bridges here.

You have no known way of knowing that is the truth.
    My theory is plausible.
    Disprove it ?
