    Australia has always been greater than the sum of parts. We have absolutely no right to be taking it to the likes of Italy, Netherlands, France, Denmark or Argentina at the World Cup. Was there in 1985 at Olympic Park Melbourne as a kid when the cocky Scots said they were going to play the game in our own half given. Didn't quite go that way, even with SAF as the manager.

    I think the biggest giveaway about how tinpot Australia are is how literally no one in Scotland will remember a friendly we played there in 1985 but you're talking about it like it was the World Cup final.

    Come on man, I get that you want to defend Australia and the A-League, but this is just silly. You only have to look at the level guys like Cummings, Behich, Duke, Atkinson, Rowles, Goodwin, Karacic, Wright and half a dozen others are playing at (and have played at) to realise that the squad we have at Celtic is significantly stronger.

    A great team performance at the World Cup doesn't change that, similar to how Celtic beating Barcelona doesn't mean that Kris Commons, Efe Ambrose or Tony Watt would walk into that Barcelona side.

    As bad a take as I’ve seen on here.

    CCV, Taylor, McGregor, Hatate, Jota and Abada alone walk straight into that Australia side. You’re taking the * if you think otherwise.

    Their lineup against Argentina included Baccus (St Mirren), Duke (32 and spent his career in Australia/Japan), Irvine (Celtic reject), McGree (Boro), Rowles (Hearts), and Behich (Dundee United).

    Celtic would absolutely trounce them.
