Insane move and a poor bit of business. If we weren't top of the league we'd all be raging.

Well I know it was likely but the US transfer window is open for months yet, as is the Japanese so it didn’t have to be tied up by tomorrow. It hadn’t been reported yet he was in to clear out his stuff etc.

Giorgos Giakoumakis has NOT completed his move to Atlanta United, despite reports.

Football Scotland understands there are still negotiations ongoing between the MLS outfit and Celtic with his exit on the horizon. Reports in Greece suggested the move was signed and sealed, but although it may indeed still happen, it's not quite over the line yet.

It's likely he'll leave for around £3.5million before the window closes tomorrow night.

Some of you guys are massively overreacting. Barring an injury crisis, I doubt we'll miss Giakoumakis. He's a terrific athlete, but a very limited footballer. I would argue it's fairly easy to find a better player. Not sure whether Oh is that player, but the early signs are rather promising.

Best of luck to him. He had a successful spell for us, that's for sure.

Maybe we want the deal done in our transfer window so we can pull the trigger on a new signing for us.

Well, as we saw yesterday there is games where Kyogo completely disappears.

Thankfully, Jota stepped up and broke the deadlock. However, on plenty of occasions it’s been Giakoumakis who has done it.

I think people are being quite naive in saying that we won’t miss him.

That's a shame, I like the big man and we should at least keep him until the summer.

Strange strange one this is. Surely another few months he could have waited. Although were definitely strong in the goals department so hope he isn't that big a miss.

There were also games where Giakoumakis couldn't control the ball to save his life. Early days, but it seems like Oh brings a lot more to the table. He's faster, he can play on the wings, he's hands down a better dribbler, plus he's fairly strong in his own right. For instance, no way GG would ever make that cross to Maeda.

If Giakoumakis were as good as you guys say, why can't we get decent money for him from relatively big teams? The best offers we got are in the 3-4M range from teams in Japan and the USA. Had we not signed him last season, it's likely he would have ended up in 2. Bundesliga for Werder Bremen. No disrespect to 2. Bundesliga, MLS or the J League, but they aren't exactly the Premier League or the la Liga. He's nowhere near as good as some of our previous strikers like Dembele, Edouard, Griffiths, Samaras, etc. Btw, he isn't better than Kyogo either, especially in Ange's system.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against GG. He was a successful signing. Helped us win the league last season. We'll even make a small profit off his sale. All I'm saying is he's massively overrated on this board.

I find the reaction to Oh’s 9 minute cameo bizarre.

It showed us absolutely nothing either way.

I’ll keep saying it until someone gives me a breakdown as to how they’ve concluded that - in a 9 minute runout - Oh is either good enough or not good enough.

It told us literally nothing. Yet, I keep reading it’s proven that he’s good enough to step in should Kyogo get injured. Bizarre.
