His first touch is like a slide tackle most of the time. That might have something to do with it.

I agree though I thought Forest might have shown an interest. He would have suited Burnley down to to ground under Dyche.

But as much as they love to build up the two
Leagues down there, the Championship in particular has some amount of big lumps that can score goals. He wouldn’t fit in every team but give him service and he would score goals.

OK. Maybe a little bit of hyperbole with the Henrik Larsson comparisons, but he was the first one who genuinely came into my mind, as regards the emotional bond formed between GG and the Celtic fans.

But I stand by my original statement that he is going to be extremely difficult to replace, like for like, mid season.

We don't need a like for like replacement right now, with a 9 point gap we can afford to make do with a stop gap and replace him properly in the summer.

A little bit of hyperbole. No * Sherlock.

That is either a * poor attempt at trolling or you know the square root of * all about football.

Naka, McGeady, Hooper, Van Dijk, Forster, Lustig, KT, Wanyama, Forrest. I'm going to stop there because I could be here all night listing players more loved than GG since Henke.

I don't think we can afford to take any risks with a stop gap, even with a nine point lead.
The last two Derby games will effectively be six pointers.
I don't believe in taking unnecessary risks, especially in such an important season.

McGeady was like marmite to be fair mate. I personally thought he was a fantastic player for us, there were plenty who didn’t like him though.

It's not an unnecessary risk as we will replace him if he goes. He's our back up striker for a reason.

I can think of at least one player who very recently had every man and his granny bawling their eyes out as he walked off the pitch at Paradise for the last time.

Championship teams with parachute payments don't often sign players on 20k plus. The parachute payments are there to help them not go bust after relegation as they will have high earners on their books. They used too but loads of clubs almost went * up trying to promote.

I was gutted when Hooper left, Maloney too.

Lustig and Brown it felt like the right time.
