His goal return from midfield is fantastic. Regularly arrows shots like that.

But I think if he wants to stay at Celtic he'll need to accept that he's an impact player from the bench. Still a very good squad player, but can't see him being a regular under Ange.

In terms of stats he's way ahead of O'Riley and has played far fewer minutes. Probably does feel a bit hard done by with his lack of minutes

Refreshing tae see a player have a pop from outside the box, he's been flying under the radar, just a wee reminder of what he can do.

Also liked his determination to win the ball back on a couple of occasions.

With all due respet, what are you talking about? He fits the system just fine, it's just that there are tough competition for MF places - but that is not a bad thing, and nothing to do with not fitting the system.

    To back up @Ryanm1984 point...

Prior to Ange's arrival his contribution was a goal/assist every 137min, since Ange's arrival it is a goal/assist every 153min - nothing wrong with those numbers/contribution, whatsoever and it's more to do with the guys ahead of him are having to keep producing as well.

This season in the league, he has played 650min (17 appearances) for 3 goals and 4 assists - or makes a goai/assist every 92min in the league, which is well above what he has produced across his Celtic career, which overall has been a goal/assist every 141min in the league.

All in for every competition combined, tonight was his 100th appearance for the Hoops (6.328min) for 22 goals and 21 assists (avg every 143min). Nothing wrong with those types of numbers.

I think his defensive contribution goes a bit under the radar because he's slow but he won the ball back a few times tonight and other games before that. He puts the effort in.

Out of interest.... Do you think O'Riley fits the system going forward bcoz he's a virtual ever present

My main criticism would come from his lack of pace.
It's just an opinion, but I can't see him staying beyond the summer.
i'm prepared to be proven wrong though.

People are starting to notice with Mooy it doesn’t really matter. And he’s faster than him, is a bigger goal threat and sets up more.

    And he’s only 23.

Aye and ability, needs to have one to post the numbers he does. The unfortunate thing for him has been recurring injuries, he’ll play his part 2nd half of the season no doubt. People forget how major a part he was first part of last season

Always liked him. Think he's underrated and definitely should be starting over O'Riley at the moment, for me.

His contribution has always been there in terms of goals and assists but I think he's worked hard on the defensive side of his game.

Would be a shame to lose him but I don't think he's happy with the game time atm. He can't be.

Happy that he is performing. Should increase his value so we get some money when we move him on.

A very decent player who appears unhappy and we will likely lose due to his lack of opportunities. Sounds familiar.

It's all well and good building a big squad but you also have to manage it properly and keep guys motivated. Watching underperfoming players play week in week out ahead of you must be frustrating.

Should start on Saturday to give him the full game. On form he is an asset to the team when on form.

I am a bit worried about his contract situation, will he sign a new deal if he is getting so little game time? Also we won’t get much for him if he isn’t playing.

Overall I don’t think he is a great fit to how Ange wants to play in terms of his poor mobility. I do think he would be better for us in the role O’Riley plays, rather than Hatate where he was playing under Ange last year.
