Given the financial mess West Brom are in I still thnk it would be worth trying our luck and putting in an offer for Dike.

I think as far as the situation between Ange and GG, I think some are over thinking it. Ange has stated numerous times (and it's been backed up by players who worked under him) he takes nothing to do with them on any level other than what they do on the pitch. He doesn't even see the players before a game. If GG is making noise about leaving trying to play hard ball for more money, Ange won't get involved in that * and he won't be trying to have any conversations with him about it trying to change his mind. If that is really what GG is doing he picked the wrong manager to try it with. Ange will sell him without blinking and he won't look back or care if it's to a club not in the players plans or if we don't make a sky high profit. We won't be held to ransom by players.

Sends a message to any other players who might he tempted to try that * with us. GG * about and got found out as the kids say.

Was thinking of Horst Hrubesch - also the scissor kick goal scorer Klaus Fischer.

I’m not sure where people’s opinions are coming from about Giakoumakis being a bad apple or being desperate to leave. I’ve seen nothing from him to actually think that. In fact, the total opposite. I’ve seen someone giving his all and desperate to score goals when he has been brought on. There was one game I thought he looked a bit fed up when he come on, but the last couple of games he has been fully committed. I also don’t get the uproar around him wanting more money. If I felt I was doing my job well and was getting underpaid, I’d want a pay rise as well. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I don’t get anything to do with this transfer at all. It doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense to me.

Am not a fan of GG (in our system) but that reported fee is derisory £8-£10m and id have been more content.

The bottom line is though, besides Cal - every single one of those players are replaceable and hearing Ange talk about moving forward "aggresively" with our team building has been music to my ears compared to the past few years of holding onto players too long (especially the mediocre ones).

I don't think Ange would even include him in the squad if he desperately wanted away, but who knows..

His attitude could have been stinking round the place too. Maybe Ange has said he's done here, there's so much which could have gone on behind the scenes.

Would Ange have brought him on in a semi final with the game still in the balance if his attitude was honking? I just don’t see that happening.

I think his reaction in the semi final shows his attitude isn’t honking.

His attitude doesn't need to be honking for him to want away now..

Yeah he may well be pushing for a move because he can get bigger wages elsewhere but that doesn't mean he has a bad attitude, plenty of players will keep putting in the effort to better shop window themselves, not take the huff or down tools trying to force their way out.

I agree with you. I think GG is looking for an improved contract from Celtic or/and a one year extention as well.

He said last year on Greek tv he is looking to play in the EPL, if and when, he moves on from Celtic.
It makes no sense to move to Japan where the locals do not speak English and he has a young family with him. Mooy had to leave his family in Scotland when playing in China so GG will struggle with dealing with his family issues, the language, the food, the cultural difficulties and the differences in the football they play. If he intends to take the money and sit on the bench each week then that would be soul destroying.

He will not go to Japan because it is too far from Greece and the Euro nations cup games coming up. The travel involved going to and from Japan is exhausting. He will need to go into camp with the Greek squad and this will keep him far away from his young family in Japan.

Atlanta FC would be a more promising prospect than Japan.

Celtic would be a more promising choice than both above if he is able to get improved contract conditions that he would be happy with, and stay with the Hoops and see out his contract.

What he needs to realise is that he must not be a mentally static player who at 28 thinks that he is the complete player and has nothing more to learn, because that would be far from the truth. He needs to bring beauty to his game and keep learning and improving, especially in finding space in the box,and avoiding being close to his markers, by standing on their blind side and drifting away from them. Learning to drift towards the far post before a cross would benefit him as well.

I was thinking of his possible involvement in the wage negotiations if this is the only reason he want's to leave.

I was just thinking that perhaps he could be involved in the wage negotiations and GG wasn't happy with what he was offered and that's why he wants to leave

I think you need to watch this. If that’s your idea of alone I must be the loneliest * on the planet.

I don’t understand why people blatantly lie for their agenda it’s so weird.

He wants to play and wants a bit more cash and maybe the Japanese team can off it? Maybe it’s just as simple as that. I like him and think he’s a very good forward but he’s limited and becoming a bit overrated. I don’t think he is good enough to play in Europe and Ange is looking to build a team that can atleast compete to get out of the groups.

Giving him 10k a week more isn't much over the course of a contract. How much h will it cost to replace him, probably more than that alone and maybe even bigger wages than currently on.
